About Yoga Towels: |
I hate it when I have guests over and they spill something and then use my favorite yoga towel to wipe it up. It’s especially perplexing since a yoga towel isn’t exactly like your run of the mill towel. I’m not sure if the solution is to find more coordinated friends who can tell the difference between a towel for drying and a yoga towel, which is a lot more along the lines of an absorbent yoga mat. Or I guess I could always just get some more awesome yoga towels so I don’t have to worry about the problem. A yoga towel is a great alternative to a traditional mat, especially if you are going to be doing hot yoga because the extra absorbency of a yoga towel will minimize slippage. Any kind of yoga can make you sweat, it’s just a natural part of life. This reminds me of when my parents explained to me about the birds and the bees and yoga towels, it’s making me nostalgic. I remember when I got my first yoga towel. I had just finished at the yoga academy. I was a young and reckless yogi with nothing to lose. They matched me up with a straightlaced old timer who was two and a half days from retirement. We were responding to our first call, a young male had got his leg stuck behind his head. We entered the house and found that there was nothing we could do. My partner grabbed all of the yoga supplies that were strewn about the place and put them into the car, handing me a towel mat. He told me that the only way he could know I was cool is if I took it, and I’m glad I did because it was awesome. Yoga was never the same. |
