About Scott USA: |
What do you get when you cross over sixty years of hard work and innovation with SCOTT USA? A lot of firsts and some really cool technology. Ever since the very beginning, SCOTT has held a large presence in winter sports like skiing and snowboarding and their products have only continued to improve. Founder, Ed Scott, started the brand’s story with the invention of the first tapered aluminum ski poles which would change skiing from 1958 and on. From there, SCOTT has produced men and women’s apparel, ski boots, gloves and more.
SCOTT carries their pride in the technology of their products. Features such as Dryosphere and Thinsulate insulation can be found in apparel while Powerlite and PWR TOUR Liners can be found in their ski boots. With features like these, SCOTT has created top of the line products in the past and for years to come. So what exactly are the features of SCOTT technologies? Dryosphere is a fabric blend that creates a waterproof and windproof barrier while also keeping jackets or pants breathable. This allows skiers and snowboarders to stay dry on the slopes both inside and outside of the jacket. Thinsulate insulation, however, is a lighter alternative to down insulation. It is a thin layer of synthetic fiber that provides less bulk and continues to keep the user warm even if it gets wet. The technologies don’t just lie in the apparel though. SCOTT’s ski boots feature Powerlite technology made of Grilamid, which creates a lightweight yet rigid boot to boost ski performance. SCOTT also offers PWR TOUR liners in their boots which creates a more durable padding in the heel and also provides closer contact to the shell of the boot. These products keep the skier stable when rushing down slopes or in the backcountry. You’ll find “No Shortcuts” to be their most used mantra and although perfection is impossible, SCOTT will try their hardest to be as close as possible to it. |
