About Scarpa |
Scarpa has been handcrafting some of the world's best boots and shoes since the 1950's. The company was originally formed in northern Italy to bring together some of the region's best shoemakers to manufacture the finest footwear found anywhere. Purchased by the Parisotto brothers in 1956, they were some of the first to develop footwear specifically for climbing and mountaineering adventures. Family descendants still operate the company to this day and are dedicated to bringing you the most innovative features in foot protection for a full range of mountain sports.
Scarpa challenges the assumption that handmade means low technology. Over the years they have pioneered many firsts for outdoor pursuits: the first GORE-TEX boot, the first plastic telemark skiing boot and the first telemark and alpine touring compatible boot. Their lines of hiking and trekking boots are so renowned that militaries around the globe have adopted them as well as climbers exploring the Himalayas and Antarctica. In addition to mountaineering boots, Scarpa produces trail running shoes, ski boots, boot liners and climbing shoes. With superior traction, the elimination of hotspots and blisters and lightweight construction, the quality of the Italian workmanship can be seen and felt with every step you take. No matter where your feet may take you, they are certain to remain comfortable, dry and confident on the mountain, trail, path or wall. |
