About nobis:

Over the past 10 years, nobis has bridged the gap between technical outerwear and classic fashion. With timeless silhouettes beefed up with technical fabrics and insulation, these jackets, parkas, and accessories will feel right at home on city streets or mountain tops. Never again will you have to look like a gumby around town with flashy outerwear very clearly meant for the mountains and never again will you have to freeze your buns off because your “nice coat” really only functions to look cute and nothing else. You can now have the best of both worlds with classic silhouettes packed from hood to hem with environmentally conscious insulations, fabrics, and waterproof technologies.

As we all know, the fashion industry creates an undeniable impact on the environment through the use of petroleum products, dyeing fabrics, and manufacturing. Nobis looks to minimize their impact as much as possible through partnering with Sedex to ensure the integration of sustainable manufacturing practices as well as researching and sourcing recycled materials and exploring fluorocarbon-free DWR treatments. Nobis also uses North American wild coyote fur in their outerwear. All fur that they source is actively managed by licensed trappers that ensure healthy populations of fur-bearing wildlife. Nobis also uses 100% Canadian white duck down as their natural insulation in their jackets and coats. The down nobis sources are exclusively a by-product of the poultry industry with regularly audited duck farms that comply with the humane treatment standards of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Duck down is still considered to be industry-leading insulation with the highest warmth-to-weight ratio over any synthetic insulation. Down and fur are also 100% natural products meaning that they are completely chemical-free and biodegradable.

Nobis also strives to make their outerwear timeless and easy to care for. Nobis products are designed to be laundered and tumble-dried like all of your other clothes at home instead of fancy dry cleaning or the use of toxic chemicals. They also participate in recycling programs that help donate gently used coats to individuals suffering from homelessness, keeping even more jackets out of landfills.
