About Kid's Climbing Shoes: |
You could start by reminding us that kids already do a great job of climbing all over everything, and in that, you’d be very correct. The little ones are masters of spider-monkeying around, reaching heights that should be unreachable, consistently surprising and terrifying you all in one fell swoop. Being active and rambunctious is something they more than excel at, so the idea of harnessing that enthusiasm might not be such a bad idea. An excellent pair of kids climbing shoes might not keep your children from pulling themselves up over all of your furniture and walls, but it might just make their actual ascents and climbs that much better and safer.
Keep in mind, doing some “for real style” climbing requires a bit more than your everyday slip-ons and sneakers. You need a climbing shoe that’ll give you some extra grip, sure, but also one that is lightweight and comfortable – after all, the last thing you need in the middle of a climb is some awful, poorly-timed cramp thanks to a shoe not built well. And it’s understandable that you might be a little apprehensive about buying a special pair of shoes for you little special someone who just so happens to keep growing at an exponential rate. Luckily, most of these kids climbing shoes are built to expand, with adjustable systems made for a growing foot, or maybe just a better fit. The kids want to climb, so let them. Hard enough as it is to stop them from getting into everything, maybe it’s not such a bad idea to funnel that excess energy into the “World of Climb” (that’s a thing) and do it with their best foot forward, grabbing a pair of kids climbing shoes to ensure they’re able to work never, and play hard. They’ll get to that work part eventually, but in the meantime: Climb away? Yeah. Climb away. |
