About Camping Hammocks for Backpacking and Hiking: |
If you're on this page, then I'll bet you want in on the Hammock game. Trust me I know the feeling. Every time you've gone out camping over the past year or so, you see more and more cool kids strapping up their hammocks and making awesome cities with these things. It's no joke, that for sure. Hammocks are becoming more and more popular every day. And they're no fad either. These things are legit for all types of camping. But why are hammocks becoming so popular? Here's a few reasons why. They're super lightweight, especially compared to a tent. They pack down really, really small, which saves some room in your pack. Unlike a tent, you don't need to set a hammock up on even ground. You can put them anywhere you can find a couple trees close together, which is easy to do most of the time. They're really quick and easy to set-up and take down. After a couple practice runs, you'll be a pro at it. They're also super comfy. I mean like really, super, best sleep of your life comfy. I'm serious, just try one. You won't regret it. For example, I decide to crash at my buddies place the other night. He had just moved in to his new apartment and didn't have any furniture. You know what he did have though? That's right. He had a hammock. Since I needed a place to sleep, you better believe we set that thing up right in his living room. Worked perfectly. Of course, after we finished setting up the hammock, my buddy posted a picture of me in it to one of those social network things. Long story short, the cute girl in our HR department was talking to me about it the next morning. She was trying to make fun of me for sleeping in a hammock inside an apartment. I asked her if she'd ever slept in a hammock before, and she said "no." So I began telling her everything great about sleeping in one. Now, she won't shut up about sleeping in one, so I told her I had a double person hammock that we could try out together. She has yet to take me up on the offer. |
