About Hiking Gaiters: |
Does anybody even know what a gaiter is? The cute guy that sits across from me was talking about wearing his gaiters while hiking the other day. For about 2 hours, I thought he was talking about gator-skin boots that he wore out on the trails. Nope. I'm really glad I Google searched that one before I looked like a dummy in front of him again. Turns out, gaiters are very similar to spats. They're like a shell that goes over your boots and calves to make sure unwanted items like snow, sand, dirt, or rocks don't get into your boots. They can also be called overboots. Now, everything the cute guy was saying makes complete sense. Like when he said that he went hiking in the snow with his gaiters on. Duh… |
