About Eddie Bauer:
In 1920, Eddie Bauer skipped the lemonade stand and opened up his first tennis repair shop in the back of a local sporting goods store. A little further down the line, Bauer caught hypothermia on a trip which actually helped him to become a pioneer of outerwear when he invented his own quilted down insulated jacket. The rest is basically history.
From being the first to provide army uniforms to having an incredibly successful mail-order catalog, Bauer’s company continued to grow and grow. These days, you can find their logo across the spectrum. Along with the signature down jacket and everyday lifestyle pieces, Eddie Bauer also produces travel bags, footwear and even camping gear such as tents and backpacking bags.
Hold up, though. In case you were wondering, Eddie Bauer has been working diligently to ensure they’re down and wool products stay on the sustainable side. They are both RDS certified and RWS certified which means both down and wool are sourced from animals located at properly treated farms. Along with this, they recently signed their name on the Canopy Commitment which states they will do all they can to protect forests through their procurement of fabrics.
