I hiked 2 Caminos in a pair of these and panicked when they did have them. Somehow, this boot fits the bill: snug heel, wide toe box. They are comfortable right out of the box, but I would still recommend breaking them in a little with various sock combos before leaving home. Thanks Moosejaw!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mary NC from not waterproof I bought my first pair of these boot about 2 years ago. Fantastic comfort, but the boots had Water poured in when I walked through a a one inch puddle. I returned them thinking I had a defective pair, and the company sent me a new pair. These were waterproof for the first month, and then they leaked. Since it's mesh, the water pours in...not damp but filled with water. You can't even walk through damp grass in these boots.

I have a pair of cold weather Vasque boots that I love so decided to come back to this brand, and I am so glad I did! They are light weight and breathable, provide great ankle support, and waterproof so far. The Vibram sole does make a difference, especially hiking over rocks.

I bought a pair 3 years ago, and they carried me over thousands of miles of hiking and backpacking. I was so sad to hear they were being discontinued, so I scooped up this pair from Moosejaw! They required almost no break-in: I wore them for a couple of walks around the neighborhood, and then did a 11-mile hike the next day, and they were perfectly comfortable. They're both well-vented and water-resistant, so except for when there's been an absolute deluge, they've kept my feet dry. And they've got great ankle support, which has definitely come in handy for backpacking and trickier hikes. Can't recommend them enough!

I did need to go up in size but they have worked out really well. I heard that they are being discontinued. I hope Vasque comes out with something else as great when these need to be replaced.

I’ve owned at least a hundred pair of Vasque boots in my time. It was time for a new pair and order 7M as I’ve done a hundred times before. Holy cow they are narrow, order 7W and still narrow. What is going on Vasque? Did you forget shoe sizes. I can’t believe after 33 years, and at least a hundred pairs I have to break up with you. I’m heart broken because I don’t like shoe shopping. Thanks Vasque for messing up a great relationship.
