The Trango Beta Stick is a collapsible stick clip available in sizes that are ideal for both sport climbing and accommodating larger work and rescue carabiners. The Trango Beta Stick assembles and collapses much like an avalanche probe pole, so it packs as light and simple as the rest of you beloved Trango climbing gear.

  • Uses the same design as collapsible avalanche probes
  • Reaches out to 10'
  • Oversized keeper handles large steel carabiners found in industrial and NFPA situations
  • Comes complete in a carrying bag

  • Compact:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for that sketch clip I really like just going for the first bolt, but sometimes the risk doesn't add up. We used this on a big roof with an unpleaseant fall hazard. It worked decently for retrieving a quick draw, but I am not sure its meant to be used that way! breaks down and if your pack is equipped for trekking poles, it clips right to the back of your existing back pack mounts. Far more compact than the other commercially available clips, unless you dont mind carrying a huge paint pole around with you :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much better than decking Works great for it's intended purpose, I'm excited to try the new steel model. A little flimsy for slabby routes where the stick can't be straight up and down. Only other complaint that I didn't receive a boulder brush the way the moose jaw site showed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful and compact Bought this for a climbing trip in Australia, so I went with the compact version so that it fits in my suitcase. I've also taken it down to the Red for a weekend. When fully extended it can be a bit floppy at the top, but that's not really a surprise. The clipping function itself is very easy to use - much easier than the Squid. There was one route that it wasn't long enough to reach the first bolt, so that kinda sucked. And we'll see how durable it is...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great clip stick I bought the compact version. The collapsed length is great and it extends plenty long. My only complaint is I'm still not used to the twist and lock mechanism for each segment. Sometimes they came loose on me and slid down. Maybe I just need to tighten it more. The mechanism to hold the carabiner gate open is simple and works very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very handy and compact This stick is very light and collapses down to a convenient size (I got the compact version, and it's still plenty long enough for my uses). It's not as rigid as a fixed broomstick when extended, so a little care is necessary when lifting a heavy section of rope, but it's worth the trouble for something that collapses so well. [ A note on usage: the instructions suggest using the Velcro provided to lift a rope up to a pre-placed quickdraw, but I find it much easier to push a bight through the frame and clamp it with the wire clip that is intended to hold open a caribiner gate.] Using this thing adds a nice bit of security and confidence, being pre-clipped to the first piece of protection before you leave the ground and knowing that you are in essence top-roping up to that point. I'm braver about what I will attempt to climb now when the early part of a pitch is unwelcoming and you don't relish falling at or before the first clip. It's nice to start out really on belay from the beginning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I ordered this stick as a christmas present for my husband. And he enjoyed it very much, he told me this is exactly the product he was looking for. The color and the quality all met his expectations. He is very excited to use it over next climbing trip!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tool for that precarious placed first bolt I bought this because sometimes that 1st bolt is just outside my comfort level. I have a family to provide for, and that would be hard to do on 2 broken ankles. Like how it packs down, very lightweight and straps to a pack easily. Only downside is, very pricey
