Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Seat Pack after a Simple $2 fix! After reading reviews, I went to the hardware store and bought a 3/4in by 3in adhesive velcro strip. I placed the fuzzy piece of the strip directly on the inside of the strap the seat strap slides on for under seat adjustment. Then placed hook portion of the strip directly to the bag body under the other portion of the velcro strip. Now slide buckle holding the seat strap into desired position, engage velcro and now bag is rock solid and dosen't move or sag. See images attached for details.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly Designed The first time I used the Sonoma Seat Pack the straps continually loosened resulting in the bag slumping and rubbing on the rear wheel. I hade a hole in the bag after 10 minutes of riding the first time I used this bag. I'm really surprised that this bag passed Timbuk2's QA/QC process. Based on other reviews here and on other forums, this appears to be a design flaw. You definitely need to modify and add additional straps/bungees to keep the bag off of your wheel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Probably not at full price. What I thought it would be. I can use it on both bikes that i ride. I commute 12 miles to work. Good fit for this and for weekend rides.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice idea, but doesn't really work. Bag is just big enough for a change of clothes and a bit more. This could be perfect for commuting to work. But the securing mechanisms just aren't good enough... I carefully secured the bag, tightened the straps, etc... Rode to work and it was fine. Rode home and right after a stop, it sagged onto the wheel, pulled me to a stop and had a hole worn right into it. Really not usable anymore, and I wouldn't trust it anyways. Maybe if you have a large bike where the saddle is very high over the wheel, it could work. On my 56cm road bike with a fistful or two of seatpost between frame and saddle, it did not work out at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent, for the price I'm generally a fan of Timbuk2, and have been for a while. When I saw this seabag I was pretty excited and immediately bought it. It's about half the price of Timbuktu's competitors and seemed to be of decent quality. It lacks features like lightweight fabrics and custom colors, but for the price, it's tough to beat. I noticed the sway another reviewer tried to explain; this design of bag lends itself to that sort of motion, which seems to exacerbate itself. Other companies have good ways of dealing with it, but I used a nylon tie-down strap (an inexpensive Jandd one in a good length (not for a car or construction site) with a plastic buckle. I should mention the handy daisy-chain loops on the bag's underside. I used these to thread the strap around the bag and over the seat rails, effectively lashing it to the seat. In my short rides so far, it seems to hold together. I haven't had a chance to take it on a longer ride. My goal is the Great Divide or any number of long bikepacking routes, or some overnight camping trips nearby. What I can fit in the bag: A synthetic REI Polar Pod sleeping bag, A Sea to Summit Themolite Extreme sleeping bag liner, a military Gore-Tex ECWCS bivy and small inflatable pillow. I can jam a light down jacket in there also, but it gets pretty difficult to roll. So, yes, that's a complete sleeping arrangement hanging under my seat. The bag makes a good fender/mudguard also. These types of bags are better for soft things like tents (minus poles) or clothing. It wouldn't work so well with hard things like camp stoves or fuel bottles. Since it can be rolled down pretty small, it can take a change of clothes or maybe some gear for a beach day or short ride somewhere. They don't replace smaller, more "traditional" seat bags used for patches and small tools, although you could put that stuff in the bag, with other things. I have some reservations about the rivet that holds the compression strap to the bag. I wonder how well it will do long-term, and if it breaks, can I repair it with a bolt or something. I almost forgot about the zippered pocket on the side. I'm not sure how one gets into it with the bag full and compression straps under load. Whilst its lovely the bag has reflective stripes facing back, it would be nice if they incorporated loops for a light. However, it has attachment points for accessory bags like the ones Revelate makes for GPS beacons and small jackets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good I'm a randonneur and usually participate in more than 200km ride, which must carry plenty of gears and wears to deal with varies conditions. As mentioned in other review, it's not easy to make it tight when the bag is fully loaded. However it could be fixed when add 2 reusable cable tie on both sides and mount them to the seat trail. I've tried for more than 1000km and it works fine.
