The Timbuk2 Especial Cuatro Backpack is a laptop backpack for the bike commuter. Plenty of foam has been given to the backpanel and shoulder straps, saving you from the ache after riding for miles to and from the workplace. Strap it close to the body with sternum strap and webbing belt to prevent sway during the ride. As for your gear, the large flap helps prevent any rain from soaking inside, but open it up and you're given loads of space for laptop, work shoes, lunch and yep, even paperwork and a few pens if need be. Water bottle pockets at the sides keep you hydrated, so keep riding and grab a drink when you need it.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very large. Very excellent. This is an awesome bag. Be forewarned, it is huge, but in a great way if that is what you want. I am 6'5", it works very well for me but might be ungainly on someone of smaller stature. I use it to haul a 17" full keyboard laptop, a large knife roll, and a tool roll. The pockets are limited, but sufficient for my purposes. 1 main with a tiny passport pocket inside. Two long external pockets, with very useful zippers down their length. A document pocket and wallet pocket on the back panel. The main compartment expands to fit almost double, but stays slim profile, albeit with a very large footprint. I use canvas tool pouches to help organize things in it along with my rolls. Their are 2 mesh pockets that work great for water bottles, even a large nalgene will fit. Straps are super comfortable. The price is very high but the quality is exceptional, if you are looking for a comfy bag to haul massive amounts of stuff, this beyond a doubt the one for you. I think it will make a great travel bag for my family as well because it will hold stuff for a couple and children easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Seattle Bike Commuting I've had/used this bag for roughly a year now & it's been close to perfect. It holds everything I need for my daily bike commute & takes a pounding in the Seattle Winters. Lots of great pockets, but my "favorite" are the 2 at the rear of the bag where I place my cell phone in one & documents/magazines in the other. Tons is interior space too. My *only* complaint is that wearing the bag high creates a kind of blind spot over my shoulder that took some time getting used to (i.e. looking for traffic to the rear & the view is blocked). I now have to look down & behind rather than up & behind - took some time getting used to, but definitely not a deal breaker (I guess I could get a mirror on my dropdowns, but, eh...). Anyhow, great bag. I would definitely buy again if the need arose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This backpack holds my life in its hands and I adore it I had the same backpack for 16 years (all of elementary school, middle school, high school, and college), and it was absolutely falling apart when I graduated from college. Going to grad school, I knew I'd need a new bag. I spent about 4 months hunting online and in brick-and-mortar stores for a backpack that was going to meet my needs: I'm a grad student, athlete, and bike commuter in one of the rainiest cities in the world. My daily bike commute is about 30 minutes each way, and I'm regularly cycling with my 17" laptop, several notebooks and library books, my gym clothes (including a change of shoes), and my lunch. And then on my way home at night, I can stop by the store for a few groceries. This bag is seriously enormous. I've used it for a three-day weekend away with room to spare. I also use it to buy a weeks' worth of groceries - for this, the side zippers that expand the main compartment are really nice. The backpack doesn't have many pockets, but I actually like that I'm not locked into pockets that don't work for me. I have some pencil cases that I always keep in the bag to hold pens/pencils, bike tools, and other essentials. The two side-zip front pockets are really nice for easy access to my wallet, shopping bag, etc., without having to open the main flap. I've had the bag for about 6 months, and the lower back pads are starting to wear a bit, which is troubling, but I don't foresee it being an issue. To be honest, it's prohibitively expensive (like most Timbuk2 products), but I justified it by recognizing that I'll probably use it for a decade or more. Cycling through driving rain and sleet, my stuff has never gotten a drop of water on it. This bag takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like This bag is great. just the right amount of pockets and features and not too many. it is well padded for my computer and I like that it's waterproof. I wish it were a little bit lighter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice big pack I use this bag daily. It has tons of space. It feels rugged. My only down-checks are the lack of pockets. I don't drive so this is my trunk, office, closet, etc when I am not at home. Being able to -eh- keep my peanut butter out of my chocolate would be very nice. For example, the front pouch has a velcro strip that splits the area into two long, vertical silos. Each has a "napoleon" zipper but before I realized the velcro divider was there I thought the only possible use for that area was maybe transporting wine bottles. I now keep a packable pair of rain pants and jacket in there -- and they take up the whole space with the velcro out of the way. The main pack space is huge and holds what I need but the little things all fall to the bottom and are impossible to get at easily without mostly unpacking everything else. I now keep an old fanny pack in there for the small stuff so that I just have to find and fish that out. Lastly, if I could change one thing, other than adding more pockets, it would be to sculpt the stiff back panel along the long sides. A slight hourglass shape would leave room for elbows that poke out back there when holding the shoulder straps, as you do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down favorite back pack These bags were given out at my company a year ago. I use this bag every day filled with laptop, dog toys and text books. I've taken this bag on flights several times and use it when I go cycling. This is hands down the best back pack I've used. The laptop section isn't fully separate from the rest of the bag so if you spill something your laptop will still get wet. But I've taken this bag through snow, rain, and hail and the inside always stays dry. My dog got to it once and my 3 and 1 year old nephews have tried their best to destroy it but it's still in great condition. I can't recommend this bag enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd bag purchased. Absolutely love Timbuk2's gear. Killer products. My 3rd bag. Still have all 3. Timbuk2 stands by their gear. One bag the buckles broke, they repaired them without question. Carrying tons of books for school. Great capacity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Received a defective product It's been 20 days since I emailed customer service to inform them of a defective bag that I received on 18 Dec. Submitted twice but still have yet to hear from Timbuk 2 except that I kept receiving all the marketing mails. There was a cut on the bag and it is clearly not due to shipment as the plastic wraps did not show any sign of cut on it. Since it was my first purchase, I'm quite disappointed as it was meant for Christmas present and the quality check was not ensured. The bag is now sitting in one corner while I wait for one of the staff to advise me on the next course of action. Hope that I will get some attention by posting it here.
