Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it!! Fits so much stuff! I bought this for my 17 year old for Christmas. He spent so much time discovering all of the pockets and practicalities of this pack. While trekking the city, he was able to stuff my coat, his big puffer coat, winter and hiking gear.. with still so much room to spare. It's adjustable and can be expanded. While it is incredibly practical, it does not take away from how cool and stylish the backpack looks. Mother and son approved!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using for business travel I have been using this pack for six weeks of solid travel for business. I was looking for something a little bigger that could help me eliminate one carry on. I travel 3-5 days a week for business and I am pretty good at outreaching light. I was using a combo of Timbuk2 aviator for short 1-3 day trips. Adding a Briggs and Riley roller for 4-5 day trips so I could pack running shoes and thin yoga mat as well as an extra change of clothes. I was looking for a single piece that would be flexible for 2-5 days to carry workout gear and extra pair of dress/casual shoes. That would also fit in any overhead bin. THIS IS IT! A little bit larger than my aviator. Which fit laptop and iPad and three days of business casual attire. Yoga mat. No running shoes or extras pair of dress or casual shoes. Plus all the charging accessories. Aviator could fit into any overhead bin, embraer 700s and 900s, even stuffed to the gills. I use packing cubes, folding boards, and can roll clothes with the best of them. Bruce had given me the ability to go 2-5 days and only have one bag with me. A recent five day trip with extra shoes for running and dress as well as yoga great had Bruce pretty full and he still fit in embraer 700 overhead bin. It was tight but we managed to jam him in there. Bruce is a top load bag with an extra capacity feature of unrolling the Velcro sealed top. So packing cubes work well. My medium folding board fits perfectly width wise. Two huge side water bottle slots can be used for other items. There is a small lined zipper pocket I keep small Bose qc20 headphones and two port Mophie juice. The next storage is a magnetized pocket I use for snacks and any other non sensitive items There is another front zippered pocket that I would be comfortable storing a passport or other valuable items. I removed the rain cover from bottom zipped pocket for additional hidden storage. I love this bag for my travel needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nope Historically Timbuk2 has an issue with making bags that look awesome, super high quality in craftsmanship and materials, but low on functionality. I bought the Timbuk2 Bruce Pack for travel. I do a lot of international travel with film crews in my career. I generally pack a few days worth of light clothes, my Macbook Pro laptop, and the basics, chargers, notebook, lip balm, wipes, just basic stuff. This bag looks amazing sure, has a bunch of pockets too, but when you fill up the main compartment, the exterior and even laptop sleeve area become totally useless. There is nothing to give and they don't expand. I put sunglass in one outside pocket and they were nearly crushed. I can reach to one of the outside pockets to grab my wallet and passport swiftly because the all of the pockets are so tight after using the main compartment. It's a basic design flaw, oversight or just bad thought behind it. I have 4 Timbuk2 bags and they all have this problem. Look good, made well, but crammed so tight, it's like trying to store things in a backpack made out of concrete.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works fine but I don't get excited packing or travelling I was looking for a new travel bag since my old one was wearing down. I really like my timbuk2 bag that I have for the office so I looked for a timbuk2 travel bag. I decided on bruce for the size and security (if people were going to steal stuff, the velcro is a loud deterrent). I tested the bag during my work trip around europe and found that the straps sort of slip? they also don't distribute or offset the weight from the shoulders as well as i hoped... but I can't really prove that on a video since it happens over time as I walk around with equipment... weight distribution is essential bc this bag can get top-heavy and feel unbalanced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After a year of searching for the right pack...Da Bruce!! I'll start by saying that the material that this bag is made with can take a beating. The two side pockets are wide enough and deep enough to hold any u-lock/cable lock, large Nalgene water bottles. The three outer back pockets provide the organizational space you need to hold everything from keys, small notepads, headphones, wallets, etc.. The large main bag will hold everything. To assist with organizing your items in there, I use eagle creek organizer packs. Within the large main bag there are two sleeves that are about the height of the pack and can hold folders or a laptop. One of those sleeves can be easily accessed from the outside, which I great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It is very hard to pack and unpack with this type of opening I don't like it. I paid a lot of money for something i won't use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from a good big backpack Its a good bag, well built and alot of functions. A little expensive and the design is more function over form. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
