The Therm-a-Rest ProLite Plus Mattress is a self-inflating mattress for sleepy nights on the trail. The Therm-A-Rest Atmos™ Foam is lighter than before, providing four-season warmth with diagonal-cuts in the pad to reduce weight even further. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and works as designed Nice pretty lightweight sleeping pad. Not super thick, but still comfortable. Used for a few nights in a row and was comfortable sleeping on my stomach, back and side each night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we needed. I researched this mattress heavily and want to help others the same way I was helped by reading the reviews. This mattress pad was light weight, easy to set up, warm and comfortable. Other reviews warned that it will not be as comfortable as your bed mattress. This is true. I guess I wasn't expecting something so affordable, lightweight and warm to be equivalent to my bed at home. I do experience back issues normally and this provided me enough support that I didn't have any issues the next day. I'm also normally cold, but was pleasantly surprised that I was still comfortable even after we didn't put plastic under the tent and had it on a hard, rocky surface. I would purchase this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy inflation and light carrying weight This sleeping pad was light to carry and very comfortable through the night. Inflation was a breeze thanks to the self-inflating design. I loved that I can control firmness easily and it gives a good amount of cushion off the ground.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I bought this mattress because I thought I trusted the company name. Since then, my opinions have changed. My first night on this mattress was a bit of poor luck. I pulled it out and laid down and after 5 minutes it was completely deflated. I thought it might just be a loose valve so I reinflated it and retightened the valve. Again it deflated. I flipped it over to find a 3 inch cut across the bottom of the mattress. To be fair, I cannot be certain that the mattress was cut when I purchased it, but I also never had got one night of sleep out of it so that was in the back of my mind. I decided to send it off to the thermarest repairs to get it fixed. This was a huge mistake. The repair I received was very poor and the mattress still had a slow leak (about 4 hours). They only repaired about half of the cut. The other half of the cut had damaged but not completely punctured fabric, a weak spot that could fail on any trip, and they didn't even touch it. A few days later I received a bill for the repair (that could only be paid by mailing a check... what year is this?). Now if I had received a quality repair, I would be more than happy to pay for it, but so far I have paid for the initial cost of the mattress, shipping to repair the mattress, and the repair fee and still have not had a nights sleep on it. On top of that, the mattress still has a slow leak and a weak spot, so taking it on a trip could be a disaster. In conclusion, I'm counting this mattress as a total loss and am in the market for a new one from a different brand. I think this is the last cascade design product I will purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deflated by itself the first night I used it I woke up after the first night with a completely deflated pad (brand new pad), next night the same. I called customer support to get a replacement. Support: «You can send it in for evaluation or document that it deflates» Me: «But I'm on the trail and how can I document that the pad deflates over night?» Support: «Customers usually put water on it to locate a leak» Me: «It is deflating and it did the first night I used it» Support: «We need evidence» Me: «I'm on the trail literally without a working pad, could we make an arrangement so I can pick up a new one in the next city I get to?» Support: «That is not possible» Me: «Great, so you don't really care that I bought a new pad that is defective?» Support: «That is not our concern». At this point I hung up the phone. I wish you would care about your customers!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and Lightweight! Really glad I got the plus. Not only is is good for extra cushion, but the extra padding really helps with cold-weather camping to give you just a bit more insulation from the ground. Would highly recommend .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good balance of weight and comfort I know everything in gear is about the ultralight these days, but a couple ounces extra for a good night’s sleep is worth it! Especially with a down bag, I wanted a pad with good insulation underneath (since down compresses under you, giving you no insulation from the bottom). It compacts nicely, and surprised me with how light it seemed. I worried it would be less comfortable with light (less dense) foam. But I slept great! True, it’s fractionally less comfortable than my old 5 year old pad but that weighs a full 2 lbs. It’s amazing how lightweight gear has gotten — today’s middle of the road stuff is lighter than ultralight stuff from just some years ago!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable For our family vacations we decided to start backpacking, feeling that initial cost might be high but the long term cost would be low. I bought this same pad on another website used and it was a bit short. I was picked on a bit until we realized that my lower legs didn't care if they had a sleeping pad. Then my boyfriend started eyeing the pad I had and order the full sized version from moosejaw. Things we like: it helps keep us warm when camping in colder weather, comfortable, easy to inflate (after you mess with it a bit, I a sometimes a slow learner), roles up really nice, and the weight to comfort/ warmth ratio works for us. My boyfriend is a side sleeper and this pad works for him.

is it essay to inflate/deflate?

Asked by: melabta
Hey there, This sleeping pad is designed to be easy to inflate. The foam core self-inflates, and from there you only need to blow into the pad a few times to bring it up to full inflation.

I was looking up the specs for the large pad and coming up with a different range.   On the package it listed 25x77 and weighted in at alb 10oz.   Specs on your site are not the same, can't figure out if thats an error or just an older model pad.  Thx

Asked by: sell me your pants
Thanks for the question! The sleeping pad dimensions are 25 x 77 and the weight is 1 lb 10 ounces. I will get that corrected on the site. Thanks for the heads up!
