Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Excellent Compromise We use this for car camping with our children. It's enough padding to be comfortable without being too heavy or expensive. I wouldn't want to take it backpacking, but it's a great option otherwise. We own several Therm-a-Rest pads of different lengths and thickness. This one is our favorite for family camping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stupendous pad! I bought this a month ago for a cross country backpacking trip and It’s been wonderful! Must have for car camping but it’s a little heavy for backpacking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, but worth the price. Super comfortable, looks to be high quality item. This review is only based on a quick test run of the sleeping pad at home, we have not used them on a camping trip yet. The BaseCamp pad seems very comfortable and is made very well. We are planning to use them as an improvement to the poor bunk mattresses in our camping trailer. This should improve the sleeping when we use the trailer, and can also be used if we decide to go tent camping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BWCA approved Bought this for a mid may bwca trip. Lakes still had some ice on them. Kept me off the ground and warm, which is saying a lot being I'm 6'7" 250lbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excited to try it! Aired it up at home and it was nice quality and a good price. Can't wait to try it! I'm a little worried bc it is pretty narrow but that's my fault for not looking at the dimensions

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pad This pad is very comfortable. I bought mine over 15 years ago, and I have used it for car camping, backpacking, and winter camping. I bought the Large (25" x 77", mine actually measures 25 x 76). It is bigger and heavier than today's air mattresses (seven times larger and over twice the weight of my R 4.0, 20 x 72 x 3.5, 20 oz air mattress), which is my only complaint when backpacking. It is more durable, and I think it is warmer than the new thick air mattresses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome sleeping pad I purchased this sleeping pad to replace my old one of 20 yrs. Our family went backing packing 3 days/2 nights in the Cumberland Gap NHP which is part of the Appalachian mtn range. Our first night we set up camp on grassy with rocks exposed, temps at night of under 25 degrees. I sleep on my side and always wake up with shoulders and hips hurting, not this time. Next night our camp was all rock exposure and on a slight slope. Again I slept awesome, I didn't feel one rock, kept me warm from ground. In fact I didn't want to get out of bed, 3 puffs at night to air it up. Packs up great, my old one was heavier so this was lighter, yet some of my colleagues tell me my pad is too heavy. I love it and am ordering two more for my family before we go hiking again.
