The North Face Women's Nuptse 2 Jacket is a puffer jacket that will take you anywhere through the cold. The recycled taffeta exterior fabric protects the precious, fluffy 700 fill power down that has been carefully stuffed into the horizontal baffles. It's abrasion-resistant and even double-layered at the shoulders for strength against carrying a pack. Your own body heat gets trapped within the down to keep you warm whenever you're on the trail or even heading to school or work. It compresses down into it's own hand pocket when not in use and weighs just under 23 ounces, taking up little space in your pack. Feel free to use as a pillow on warmer nights, or wear it to sleep in frigid ones.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Cloud Hug How did I get through life before getting this jacket? I have no idea. Don't wait to experience the finest creature comfort available on planet earth-buy it now! It fits me perfectly, who wears size 4 tops. It keeps me warm in a semi-chilly office and outside in a sub-zero blizzard. Before getting it I contemplated moving to a warmer climate region-but no more!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great product, but... What's the use of having zip in compatibility if you're never going to put out another product to zip it into. I've waited 2 years for them to put out a waterproof shell to zip it into. Nothing! Waste of money. So I'll go throw it at Marmot, Kelty or maybe even Pataguccia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again and again This jacket got me through a winter of negative 30 degrees with wind a tons of snow, and I have no complaints at all. I love how you can tighten the bottom of the coat at the wait and the sleeves so no wind can enter. The coat is thick enough that you don't get wet from snow, and wind cannot come through. High quality materials. I outgrew the one I had for three years, and would love a new one but they don't have my size in the black!): Highly recommend!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs big I really love the quality of this jacket. The color was perfect and the jacket is light weight. Only regret I have is that it fit a bit on the big side. I didn't want to exchange to avoid having to wait longer to enjoy the jacket. I'm 5'2" 125lbs & bought a small. I think I would have been happier with an ex-small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Coat I just purchased this NF Nuptse Jacket. It fits great, looks great and keeps me very warm. I am in 12* temperatures in the snow. Love that I am warm and its so light weight. I have a thermal underneath or a thin sweatshirt. The only drawback I found is there is no elastic or draw string around the hips, The snow can get in your pants if you fall or or rolling around while skiing or sledding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted I bought this jacket because a friend recommended it to me and I have to say I'm in love with this jacket now. It's versatility is just right. Even with a thin sweater underneath I'm never cold. And when I go in the preheated car it's not to hot. Just right. I also love the high collar I used to forget my scarf everytime I went out the house and now I don't need a scarf anymore. Love, love, love this jacket. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed! I bought this a month ago and I am so happy that I did. I recently moved to a snowy climate from the beach, and have not been prepared at all! This jacket is incredibly warm, comfortable and practical. I highly recommend it.

How warm. Is this jacket? Is it good for the cold, snowy northeast winters? Thanks.

Asked by: Elie
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Actually, this coat does not have a temperature rating. In fact, most coats do not have temperature ratings. This is for several reasons. Mainly, it's because warmth is a subjective thing, unique to each person. Not only that, but there are other factors that can affect a person's (jacket's) warmth: wind, humidity, activity level, what else your wearing, etc. However, there are still helpful hints you can use to guide you. Best bet will be to check the insulation. The higher the fill, the warmer the jacket. That should be your basic rule of thumb. For this jacket, it has a 700 Fill goose down insulation. That's a good sign that this jacket will be keeping you warm. Hope this helped you out!

Is this jacket suitable for skiing?

Asked by: Hmw22
Hiya Hmw22, thanks for your question! It is actually more of a casual jacket. The North Face has many other jackets suitable for skiing. Such as: The North Face Women's Lucia Hybrid Down Jacket The North Face Women's Hickory Pass Jacket The North Face Women's Upandover Triclimate Jacket Hope this helps!

Is this good for camping and hiking?

Asked by: dina
Thanks for the question! The Nuptse 2 is more of a casual winter jacket. I would not use it for camping or hiking because it does not have any wind or water protection. Also, the material can tear easily if it gets caught on a branch or something sharp. I would actually consider a Triclimate instead. That way you will have the insulation, as well as protection from the elements. I included a link below for my suggestion. Hope this helps a little!
