DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost I LOVED THE LOOK of this jacket, but the med was too big except in the shoulders and no small left so sadly I just had to return it... but if a small was left i wonder if it would have been to snug in my shoulders

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this coat! This coat was exactly what I was looking for and at such a great price. It arrived in a timely manner as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit, good price I bought this jacket for hiking but am sure I will use it for many other activities too! Great jacket with nice fit, it is a little more bulky with the inner jacket zipped but not too much (for reference I am 5’7”, 120lbs and got an S). Both jackets are great on their own too. The shell is nice and light, the inner jacket is actually a lot cuter than I thought. Shell kept me totally dry in the rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome coat I bought this coat a few weeks ago and I love it. It is nice and warm in the cold weather and is very comfortable and not restricting at all. Love My new North Face coat and would definitely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket I'm a faithful North Face wearer and am a bit disappointed in this jacket. Love the lightweight warmth and look of the jacket but there is no inner pocket, the inner sleeve snaps are very weak and it runs slightly small through chest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 in 1! I was looking for a jacket for my snowboarding trip and I'm glad I went with this one! The 3 in 1 is so convenient, kept me so warm in the snow. Since it doesn't necessarily snow in San Diego ;) I can still get a good use of both jackets in the rain or on a cold day. I love the fact that it has velcro so you don't have to worry about zipping and unzipping with gloves on. Plenty of pockets too! I am 5'6 135 lbs and I got a size medium. I had ordered a small and I needed to exchange for a larger size. Easy fix but problem was I needed it in less than a week for a trip I was going on. I called customer service and the lady that helped me was able to expedite my order and I received the jacket in time thankfully! Love moosejaws great customer service!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality, but fits poorly. I bought this jacket to wear casually, because my current jackets were just not warm enough. Unfortunately, the jacket was very tight in the bust and hips, but too loose in the waist. If you are looking for a more baggy jacket, this jacket (one size up) would be perfect. Unfortunately, I prefer a more fitted jacket, so I had to return it. For those of you looking for sizing info, I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, and a DD cup size. I ordered a size xs.

My daughter needs a jacket for school in Fairbanks. She needs an in-between coat for 0 to 32 F. Is this jacket too light for this purpose?

Asked by: AKmama
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, The North Face does not temperature rate their garments. The Garner Triclimate is a ski jacket and will be waterproof & warm. It has synthetic insulation and I think it will work in the temperature range you need. Down insulation will be a tad warmer, tho. If she needs a ski jacket specifically - then I would take a look at the Mosswood Triclimate Jacket. If she prefers a lighter, synthetic 3-in-1 that mimics the warmth of Down, then I would also look at the Thermoball Triclimate (my personal fav). I included links below. I hope this helps a little!

Does the shell have a taffeta type lining or one of those sealed linings or one of the mesh type linings? Can't tell from your pictures. Thanks for your help

Asked by: Heather
HIya Heather, thanks for your question! This jacket has a taffeta type lining, not a mesh one. Hope this helps!
