I tried on the L and it was a bit tight. Especially, if I tried to put 2 sweaters under it. But, then that XL was just TOO big. Overall, I ended up just getting a credit. But, I really enjoyed my Moosejaw experience and love that they have a lot of cool brands in stock.

It snags on to other fabrics and overtime I could see that this would bother me making the coat look more dingy. It's hard to clean velcro once it gets caught with other fabrics. Also, the velcro does not feel soft against my skin. The hood could be more substantial. Once I zipped off the fur, it barely covered my entirely head. I'm 5 foot 5 and 120 pounds and the coat fit great around my body. However the hood was just too small. It is extremely warm. I usually run cold and I was comfortable in 30 degrees with just a thing cotton shirt underneath.

When I went to pick up the coat, it was already dirty.. asked to switch it for a different one which they made Me go switch the coat (despite it being an in-store pick up and they gave me a dirty coat). The sizing is also off, the small was too tight (for sweaters underneath) and the medium was to loose and looked funny. The coat collects every single piece of dust. The hoodie isn't practical.

I love the ribbed cuffs at the wrists and the tighter hood size that actually stays on my head. It is a good weight and definitely waterproof. I sized up to have room for bulkier layers underneath. I probably could have gone with my usual size, but the medium is still nice and cozy.

Does this have Dual zippers... Is it a heavy coat to wear? are the arms narrow?

Great questions! YES, the Arctic Parka comes with a two-way zipper. You just can't tell from the images because the stormflap is covering it. The Parka weighs 2 lbs 13.5ozs, but doesn't feel heavy when wearing. I actually have this Parka and the arms are narrow. I went up one size to be more comfortable. I hope this info helps!

What temperature is this jacket good for? Is it warmer than the Acropolis?

Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, The North Face does not temperature rate their outerwear. Instead they using a rating system: warm, warmer, warmest. The Acropolis is considered "warmer" and the Arctic Parka is the "warmest". That is because the Arctic Parka is waterproof and won't let you get soaked from heavy snow. On a personal note, I live in Michigan and the Arctic Parka is my winter coat. I have used it for years and it hasn't let me down yet. I hope this info helps!

Hey there, Thanks for the question. The North Face's DryVent technology is comparable to a GORE-TEX membrane, and The North Face does rate this as waterproof rather than just water resistant. You can expect it to shed water very well. We have not had consistent reports of this jacket allowing in water so it should stand up to very rainy conditions.

HOW to MEASURE
CHEST / BUST: Measure the total circumference of your chest at its fullest point. Ensure that the tape is horizontal when measuring.

WAIST: Place your hands on your hips and bend to the side. The indent on your side as you bend is your natural waist. Measure the total circumference at this point.

HIPS: Stand with your feet 6" apart. Measure the total circumference at the fullest point of your hip.

SLEEVE LENGTH: With your elbow slightly bent, starting at your middle neck bone, measure to the point of your shoulder and down to your wrist bone. Or take a shirt that fits well and take the same measurement.

FIT TYPES
SLIM FIT: Has a close-to-body fit with fair range-of-motion. Jackets are shaped at the waist with moderate body contouring. Can be worn over base layers or light mid-layers.

STANDARD FIT: Fits true-to-size for easy, comfortable movement. Can either have slight body shaping or a straight fit without the shaping. Can be worn over mid-layers.
