The North Face Summit Series Men's L6 Down Belay Parka is designed to deliver serious warmth and protection in harsh alpine conditions. This parka is filled with incredibly lightweight and compressible 800-fill goose down that traps heat close to your body in extremely cold weather, and its seamless offset baffling further contributes to thermal efficiency. To keep chilly winds at bay, the sleeves have integrated thumbhole cuffs and the hem cinch is easily adjustable from inside the hand pockets. It's purposefully designed to layer well over other pieces, and the extended insulated neck section does a great job battening down the hatches over your entire system. With a helmet compatible hood, a two-way VISLON® zipper, and harness compatible handwarmer pockets, this belay parka is a dedicated climbing partner engineered for the most demanding environments.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large and in charge This is going to keep you warm. Worn it a lot with just a T-shirt underneath in weather down to 10F with high humidity and not doing anything requiring a high effort. With warmer layers underneath I haven't found the cold limit yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The best jacket money can buy Super quality , Can't tell how warm it will be ( Chicago in the 90* ) but anybody living in Chicago for 30 years will know which Jacket can handle the below 20 degree F weather . I known this the one , the only problem is this jacket run big , all my jacket are M , so I order the M , but it come out too large , I order the S and wait until the S come in then return the M to the NF store in Chicago . I still lucky , this item is sell fast , now the M & S , all sold out . one more thing is the helmet compatible hood too big , TN F should make the regular and big hood so customer can pick what they want , ( It is adjustable but needed a better way to adjust it )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A-1 Purchase In Love with my new L6 Parka. The overall style and fit is excellent, I can already see this will be perfect for any cold/snow weather to come. I wore it for the first time a week ago and received a couple compliments. I'm so happy about my decision to buy this North Face Parks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome parka with one small confusion. I'm giving this parka a 4 for now only because (forgive me) I'm having some trouble figuring out the hood adjustment. As you can see in the pictures from the site - the draw cords for the hood have two access points: loops on the outside of the neck area and pull strings on the inside. I cannot for the life of me figure out where I'm supposed to pull these from. I was told by the North face customer service that you pull from the outside.. so I pulled them from the bottom looped point on the outside and am left with dangling exposed cords. It didn't feel right so I tried to pull them the way it shows in the picture above.. but that also doesn't seem correct because you have to expose your neck and chest to the elements to do this. Overall this jacket is beautifully made and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I just need some help from a pro on how to properly pull these draw cords without breaking something!!! Ps: TNF take notice there is a review of this jacket that includes a picture of a Himalayan parka so we can't be sure if that person was actually reviewing the belay or the Himalaya.
