Rated 3 out of 5 by from If they fix the interior... I like everything about this bag with one exception. The interior is horrendous. It would take nothing at all for them to cover the components and structure on the inside so that my expensive clothing and shoes aren't rubbing up against hard plastics and exposed edges the handle mechanism and structural components. Poor design all around on the inside. Outside, great look and feel. Inside. Just horrible...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I've bought two of these I loved this bag when I found it. Light weight, waterproof material, the right size, and thoughtful design. It's a great bag. So I bought another for my daughter. Now, after a year of use, call it 6-9 trips on a plane, the top of the extendable handle is splitting. When it completely breaks, I'll have to carry the bag thru airports and then return it for a warranty claim. Shipping it back will cost me $20 - and I won't have a bag to travel with for 6-8 weeks. So, it's a great bag, I get compliments on it all the time, but I'm unfortunately not able to recommend it because the handle is breaking after some pretty mild use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bag for specifically what it is... I absolutely love this bag! One will need, however, to be certain of exactly what they want out of it before purchasing. As other reviews have mentioned, it does not have a fluffy lining inside or all sorts of accoutrements. this is a bare bones rugged roller bag that will last you forever if taken care of. A shirt or two may get wrinkles, but that is avoidable by using packing cubes etc. Pay attention to the sizing; I got the smallest one as I already had a 21"ish Tumi roller, and I wanted something for speedy weekend travel. Your existing luggage will give you a good idea of the best size to order.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 8/10 - small, spacious, strong After weeks of looking for the perfect carry-on, I bought a spinner suitcase and only later found the 19-inch Rolling Thunder. I decided to keep both because the bags can serve different purposes. Although I haven't used the RT yet, here are my first impressions after unboxing: PROs - Fairly spacious. Some compression was required, but I was able to fit 2 dresses, 8 tops, 1 pr. shorts, 1 skirt, 1 pr. flip flops, 2 prs flat sandals, 1 large Ziploc of socks and undergarments, 2 swimsuits, 1 set of PJs and 1 toiletry case. - 2 vertical pockets on front flap are well-sized. - Handle is very sturdy -- doesn't rattle when you try to shake it. - Large treaded wheels could probably handle various outdoor/uneven surfaces, such as cobblestone, grass or snow. - Material is heavy and seems weatherproof. - Compatible with international carry-on requirements, as it's smaller than other carry-on wheelies. - Looks cool. CONS - Zipped compartment at the top is very small. You could fit granola bars, gloves or cell phone chargers, but probably not a book. - Handle is a little tall. It's still comfortable for the average adult, but maybe not the best option if you're under 5'5. - Handle doesn't lock at the mid-height position. - Back of interior is not lined, leaving the metal around the handle exposed. - Only 1 compartment for clothes (not counting mesh part on inner flap), which means dressier items could wrinkle. - Small VERDICT This is the bag to use if: - You cannot or do not want to use a full 22-inch carry-on. - You will need to wheel a bag outdoors, e.g. on city streets or in the snow. - You are rough on your luggage. - You want technical features. A hard-shell spinner or regular 2-wheel suitcase might be preferable if: - You want to maximize your carry-on allowance. - You need to pack dress shoes, boots, bulky items or clothing that cannot be wrinkled (e.g. for a wedding or cruise). - You will be rolling your bag primarily on smooth airport floors

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love those red wheels! I travel for a living. It was obvious, in my first year of travel, that the average piece of luggage is designed for a few trips per year. I went through every piece of luggage that I owned, in the first year. I've been using one, just like this, for 6 years, now. It's getting a little frayed, and has a few small tears, but is still fine. I'm retiring it to the vacation luggage. My favorite feature of this carry on, are the red wheels. I always know that it's my bag, in the sea of black carry ons!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Overhead Bins After traveling with a 30" duffle please s an enormous bag of parachute cloth that go too heavy, I ordered the 19" rolling thunder? Why? The thought of having to check a giant bag for a trip with connecting flights scares me. For a 10 day vacation --with the help of packing cubes -- I was able to fit in 2 swimsuits with beach coverup, 3 pair of pants, 2 pair of shorts, 7 tee shirts, 7 sets of underwear, and a pair of sandals. I admit to being the opposite of a light traveler, and put additional items in modest sized backpack. I hate Guly recommend the 19" rolling thunder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for 3-4 days! I just used this bag on a 3 night trip and then again on a 4 night trip. The quality is amazing, as expected from North Face. It's light, rolls easy, the handle is smooth and the zippers work great. I used packing cubes to make efficient use of the space. It got tight trying to pack an extra pair of shoes along with clothes and toiletries, but it all fit. Highly recommended if you typically take your luggage on the plane as carry-on. If you want a small bag, but typically check your luggage, it might be worth getting the next size up to have a bit more packing space.
