Rated 4 out of 5 by from Roomy two person tent Wanted 4 season tent that wouldn't break the budget. With the vestibule this tent is pretty comfortable for two people. It is easy to set up and put up with some strong winds. My only real complaint is that it is heavy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomber Was looking for a rugged tent for winter camping. It is very sturdy, pitches tight, and is fairly spacious. The ventilation is also pretty good for a 4 season tent as well. Only downside is that it is not light. Also it would be nice if North Face would include a footprint for how much it cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This tent is excellent! I did a load of research before deciding to go with the Mountain25 and everyone was right. Incredibly spacious. Plenty of storage. Excellent ventilation. Easy to enter/exit. Large vestibules. Easy set-up and break-down. I've used it for two cold weather camping trips and it kept me comfy and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great purchase for colder weather! Great tent which is fantastic for colder weather. Hotter weather makes ventilation a little more difficult.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable and Dry When all other tents have failed..... I bought my North Face Mountain 25 in 1995. Since then I have camped across the U.S. six times; through two blizzards in the southwest, torrential down-pours in the Everglades and Tennessee, wind storms on the Texas Plains, snow storms in the Grand Canyon and in the Colorado Rockies, severe thunderstorms in Florida , the Smokies and the Bahamas, and icy hunting trips in the Montana backcountry. It has been buried under 14 inches of snow and flooded to where it was floating......we/it has been around the block a few times. When every other tent in the group is soaked, torn, broken or otherwise destroyed, I was dry and secure in my Mountain 25. It takes a little extra effort to set up compared to the ultra convenient tents designed for the weekend car camper but after over 20 years and the many, many miles and events that this tent has been with me through, I am glad that I spent the extra money on this tent when I was a poor college kid so many years ago. It is one of the best investments I have made, wish my 401K took care of my like this tent has. Edward Marks Miami, FL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's named "Mountain" for a reason! First things first, this is NOT a lightweight tent! If that's what your looking for this is not it. But, if your looking for a tent to protect you in the worst weather a mountain can throw at you - this is the ticket! Retains heat really well, bomber construction, and the multiple (multiple!) tie points between the fly and the poles lock this tent down for the long haul in the best of storms! Previously had a Sierra Designs expedition tent - this was a great investment and transition!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extremely disappointed In short, I was disappointed with this tent and cannot recommend it. I will be returning it. My chief complaints are as follows, in order of severity: • No part of this tent seems waterproof. On the third use of this brand new tent (December 2016 version), we were just below 8,000 feet in 4' of snow. At 31 degrees F and subsequently 20 degrees F, it rained and then snowed on us for 15 hours. The rain fly stuck to the tent body. Water poured through the rain fly and then through the tent body and side walls. Water poured through the floor despite the fact we used a footprint which was smaller than the tent perimeter. Water was dripping from the ceiling vents all night as the vent poles really just push the rainfly down instead of the vent out. Condensation was an issue even with all the vents and doors open. • The listed/specified length dimension is 86". However, we measured 78" at the very most. This difference and discrepancy of 8" is a big deal for someone who is 6'-2" with gear. • Vestibules are small. • Doors are somewhat small and challenging to get in/out of for taller folk. • The rain fly is not quite taught even when staked/guyed out completely. • Pole sleeves are difficult to work with IMO, especially in wind. • The tent materials to not seem as durable as other expedition tents I have owned. The few clips the tent does use feel like they are going to tear through the tent body. • The yellow/black color scheme of the rain fly makes it look like a big bumblebee. Not a big deal if you are not allergic to bees. The features of this tent I DID like are as follows: • Interior gear pockets and reflective guy lines are quite nice. • Interior gear hanging loops are plentiful (22 total). • The tent comes with 4 snow stakes (bags) as well as a handful of aluminum non-snow stakes (but not enough for all stake/guy points). Not a big deal as most will want to do their own thing. • Due to the pole sleeves, the tent body/canopy is VERY taught. • Love the snow skirts.
