DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing fit! Better than regular thermoball! I don't know why the other reviewers rated this so poorly, but I have a super positive experience with this jacket. I'm a gear junkie and avid outdoors guy. I have a regular thermoball jacket and 2 of the thermoball stretch models. The thermoball stretch has a slim fit, making it way more stylish to wear around town, and making it sleeker when using as a mid layer while backpacking or winter hiking. I love the fit! The regular thermoball is way too boxy for me. The mate finish on both my jackets is great, I think it makes it more wearable in more situations for someone like me that doesn't like flashy colors/clothing. The construction is awesome, no problems with zipppers or with seams coming apart. I have hiked multiple long distance hikes in New Zealand and Europe with the thermoball stretch. Lots of abuse and still looks great after a wash. One bad thing, I don't think it's as warm as my favorite Patagonia Nano Puff. The multiple stitch lines on the thermoball seem to let in the cold more than a nano puff....however, sometimes you don't want or need something that's super warm. Even though it's not as warm as my Patagonia Nano Puff, I find it regulates heat better. I can't wait for more colors to come out so I can buy another. North face, PLEASE MAKE A HOODED THERMOBALL STRETCH!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Easy JAcket to keep you warm in the Spring/Fall Great looking and easy wearing jacket for fall or spring days that are cooler. Not the warmest so not good for mid winter outings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! So far I have only used it casually- to work and on days off. I like the way it looks and feels. The matte look is understated- which I appreciate. I am five feet, eight inches and about 150 pounds and the small fit me better than the medium for an athletic fit. The North Face app recommended the medium by a significant margin, so I am glad that I was able to try on other North Face products to realize that the small is a better fit for me. I look forward to wearing this next ski season to really test it out, but in the meantime, I am more than happy to wear it casually when it is foggy and windy here in the Bay Area. Thanks North Face for decades of great products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First thermoball jacket Haven't had the chance to wear this in cold weather yet but I like the fit and feel of this jacket. The one thing I don't care for is the grape leaf color, but that was my choice.

I have a large mens triclimate arrowood jacket that is probably about 4 years old. The removeable stretch fleece lining is getting worn and I was wondering if its possible to use the stretch thermoball jacket as a replacement lining. Would it fit?

Asked by: Kevin
The North Face has quite a few zip-in compatible jackets, but the regular Thermoball jacket is not compatible. As far as "fit" goes, yes, the Arrowood shell will definitely fit over the Thermoball. But, securing it to the shell could be problematic. For your information: the Triclimate Thermoball is compatible with the Arrowood.
