C-KNIT is a backer technology that is utilized as the innermost layer of GORE-TEX fabrics. It is soft to the touch and adds serious comfort to hard shells. Its incredible breathability will minimize moisture build-up so you won't get that clammy next-to-skin feeling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't wait for it to rain just so I can use this I love this shell. The progressor line was designed with rock climbers in mind and that's what I like to do so naturally I was drawn to it. This shell has some serious durability to it using TNF fuseform tech. The fuseform was definitely an appeal for me since this can truly be a lifetime piece (assuming I don't get too fat to fit in it anymore). The fit is definitely long in the sleeves and the torso, but like I said it was designed with rock climbers in mind, so the length is great for when you're reaching above your head so your body stays protected. I'm also 6'1" ish so I appreciate the length. There is velcro on the cuffs if you want your whole hand exposed if that is a concern, and I look forward to seeing how this shell handles cycling with the extra torso length. I've got an athletic build at 215 pounds and wear a size large. I read the previous review and do not think this jacket is baggy, unfortunately it might be that gentleman's body type. This is what TNF calls an Alpine Fit which is going to be a tad looser than an athletic fit but more fitted than a classic or relaxed fit. This is an advanced tech shell, so if you're looking for all the bells and whistles, this is it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shell, Fit Takes Some Getting Used To There is no better super lightweight Gore-Tex shell that North Face makes - I live in Seattle and was searching for a 4 season jacket for this climate - something I can layer under in the dead of winter and still ski in, but also something that I can wear in downpour weather in the spring / fall months where its 50's or even 60's and just be dry and not hot at all - while still being active. This is that jacket. The only thing that kills me on it though it is that I am 5' 11" and 190 lbs - and where Large fits me perfectly in about every other brand - North Face has made this shell a bit on the 'baggier' side for the Large, and I almost fit into the Medium - but the Medium is just a bit too tight in the shoulders and in width of the jacket. Really they need to have their Large size be a bit more athletic fitting. The jacket goes straight down without any tailoring - no flare out at the waist, and does not come in at all in the midsection. I am actually contemplating exchanging it still for a new jacket because in essence it ends up fitting like a poncho a bit and not a high performance outdoor shell. But other than the fit issue (and perhaps it will fit other's body types better) the material is UBER lightweight and super breathable. This is the type of material that NF should be using for future jackets to compete with Arcteryx LT shells - it just is missing the nice tailored fit of their competition. One jacket I've been looking at that NF makes in comparison is the Active line - but I do not believe that is a shell I can get away with in the winter here. Anyways, I'm still on the fence with this shell, but may end up keeping it.
