The North Face Men's Freedom Insulated Pant is a waterproof pant for all-weather conditions on the mountain. Ski or snowboard, perhaps some snow tubing with the kids, whatever you're up to this winter, the DryVent 2L shell protects, keeping you dry against rain, snow and even shielding from the wind. A 60g layer of Heatseeker Eco insulation adds warmth for staying active during the bone-chilling days. Don't fear overheating either as inner thigh vents can be opened or closed depending on your comfort level. Pull the StretchVent gaiters over your boots, the gripper elastic keeps them in place and the cold, wet stuff out.

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Are any of these mediums supposed to be the long size?  What is inseam of medium long?

Hey there, thanks for your question. The standard inseam of these pants is about 32" however they do come in a Short 30" and a Long 34" inseam option as well. If it doesn't have a short/long designation it is just the standard inseam length. I hope this helps

HOW to MEASURE
WAIST: Measure around the narrowest point, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

HIP: Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest point of the hip, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

FIT TYPES FITTED: A close fit, at times compressive, that starts at the natural waist and hugs the body through the seat, thigh and calf, finishing just above the ankle.

SLIM FIT: Is slim in the seat and close-to-body throughout. A straight side seam runs through the hip and thigh. Pant will be narrow through the leg, with a moderate taper from mid-thigh down.

STANDARD FIT: Is trim, but not tight, in the seat with an ease through the hip and thigh. Pant will be narrow through the leg with a moderate taper from mid-thigh down.

RELAXED FIT: Has a generous fit in the seat and is roomy through the hip and thigh. Ease through leg with a slight taper from mid-thigh down.
