Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, durable, and light I purchased both this sleeping bag and the dolomite double as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend because I wasn't sure which one would be better. I wanted a bag that would provide warmth, comfort, easy carrying and durability. I was very hesitant about purchasing this bag due to the cost, but after comparing both sleeping bags to the desired qualities, this Campforter was the clear winner. The Dolomite is much heavier, flimsier (as it is made of synthetic material) and I questioned the warmth it would provide. Although the rectangular shape of the Dolomite allows for more room, this Campforter bag still allowed us to sleep comfortably (I am 5'5, approx. 115lbs and he is 6'0 and has a thin build; the length of the bag is regular) and is by far the superior choice. The down was so much warmer and lighter than the synthetic material of the Dolomite Double and the hood was a necessity we didn't know we needed until we tried it out (Note: We did not take the Dolomite hiking and do not know how it would have fared comparatively). During the middle of the night (around 38 degrees) we were sweating in this bag and had to unzip it (which is a surprise as both of us are usually cold). It is around 5lbs and my boyfriend will be able to strap it to his backpack when hiking, although it is rather bulky. After comparing the quality of both products and aforementioned characteristics, the price is worth it for the Campforter (Not saying someone wouldn't be happy with the Dolomite; but if you are willing to shell out the extra money, this bag is worth it). Would recommend this sleeping bag to couples or, hey, individuals who want a LOT of room. Either way, this bag allows you to sleep in any position comfortably and the goose down makes camping feel more like glamping (glamour camping). Although I've done my fair share of hiking and camping (and am NOT a fan of sleeping in a tent), this bag actually makes me excited for the next trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate Comfort with Packability Warmer than a traditional double bag, and more comfortable than zipping two mummy bags together, this is the perfect bag for couples (or two really close friends) that want to be comfy and warm in a bag that is still pretty packable. I wouldn't reccomend this for ultra-light backpacking, but it is great for car camping, bike-packing or backpacker as long as you aren't counting grams. Bonus feature is the top zips off and makes for a great blanket to wrap up outside of the tent.

What is the recommended pad for this sleeping bag?  We at hiking so size and weight are important considerations thanks

Asked by: Swodawg
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately The North Face does not have a recommended pad. With that being said, on the bottom of the sleeping bag there are loops that tie onto a sleeping pad. Below are all the specs I have for the size Regular Bag: internal length - 84" internal girth - 56" internal hip girth - 53" top length - 68".
