The Tentsile Stingray 2.0 3 Person Tent not only looks like a hovercraft, but also behaves similarly. It elevates you above unfavorable ground conditions, keeps you safe from snakes and bugs, and is a snap to operate as it has a 15 minute setup time. It can be suspended from three trees or other sizable anchors, contains three spacious bays with a rip-resistant insect-mesh top, and is accessed through a floor hatch in the center or the large front door. Additionally, it has a removable rain fly which can be fixed to the ground creating a large covered porch area. These removable rain fly flaps can be toggled above the front door to keep them out of the way, or they can be folded underneath to form a thermal buffer and second windbreak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing, Comfortable, Sleek This tent is FANTASTIC, I'll sum it up very quickly. The bug mesh works fantastically, the floor door and main entrance zip quickly, open and close! The tents floor is strong and scratch/rip resistant, I've had two adults with gear and a small 30ish lb dog with untrimmed nails in there and not a scratch(people rudely left their shoes on haha). The tent also cleans out easily and looks great. Lots of people asking about it and curious if you can connect other ones to it. The most difficult part of setting it up is balancing it between the three trees. Something I've noticed i've gotten better at each time I set it up. Other than that tricky part, the tent takes about 10-15 minutes to setup and get fully prepped; which to me is a breeze! I love that in a pinch I VERY easily could set it up on the ground as well. Will report back if there's any hiccups I encounter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best nights of sleep of my life I am a hammock camper by nature, but with a famlly, hammocks can be a little lonely. Enter the Tenstile, which combines the family-style tent camping with the comfort of a hammock. I was impressed with the overall quality of the product received. Setup took about half and hour the first time, but with two people it's now usually about ten minutes once we find 3 nicely spaced trees. I love being suspended above the ground, especially when it rains as you don't have to worry about water seeping in from the sides. The Stingray isn't an ultra-lite backpacking hammock tent, but when you're car camping or just hanging out in the backyard, the Stringray is comfortable and allows for a great night of sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hammock Tent I love hammock camping, but always felt alone when heading to a hammock. Enter the Stingray, which combines the best of hammock camping with camping as a couple/family. Setup took about 1/2 an hour the first time, but now is less than 15 minutes. I love the sleep I get in it and haven't had any issues with rain getting in. My kids love setting it up in the backyard and having slumber parties with friends. When camping at state parks or other campgrounds, we invariably have interested people asking about it. I definitely wouldn't haul it backpacking, but for most people who camp near their car, this is a great way to enjoy the outdoors without walking up stiff or sore from sleeping on the ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coolest tent ever This tent is very well made. Set up was a little difficult at first, but it is a suspended tent. I think it will get easier with practice. This is like sleeping in a portable tree house and will be great in the summer! What a great idea! It also is much better than sleeping on the hard uneven ground!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing experience!!!!!! First of all, the customer service is incredible!!!! They really care about us, the customers. I have never had anything less then a great experience dealing with Moosejaw!!!!!! The Tentsile Stingray is an amazing tent. Set up can be difficult but that is easily cured with vision and experience. I set the tent up once at the fire station (in the middle of the hood) simply because I couldn't wait and to see the basic set up. Our trip wasn't anywhere exotic and it rained constantly (no leaks, flawless) and we still had a blast. My boys are 10 and 6 so they were so excited to have a portable tree house and my 76 year old dad went with us and didn't have a clue with what I was doing during setup. He actually slept in a North Face Arrowhead tent that leaked (older tent too) I definitely love this tent and we are looking forward to all the creative places we can set it up. I do certainly recommend this tent (and Moosejaw)!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tentsile Stingray great investment Bought it for camping on lake Huron. First time set up took 30 minutes, the second time it took 12-15 minutes. It is great for sleeping, much like a hammock, but without the confinement. Be mindful that if you have multiple people sleeping in (or attaching hammocks) you will feel every movement. Overall it Rocks!

What is the difference between 2.0 and prior models? Is the 2.0 the latest (2016)? I heard the tarp an floor size are both smaller - is that true?

Asked by: Mike
Hiya, thanks for the questions! The Stingray 2.0 has been a soft launch so the official updates are in the works. The new design changes include: - Front pole sockets on the outside. - Two rear pole sockets with zipper for access. - Crossed luggage straps in the corners. - Looser central hatch mesh for easy storage access. - Forged steel D-Ring - Grey periphery edging. Yes, the 2.0 version is smaller. The size has been reduced to 13.5' on each side. Hope this helps!

What are all the differences between the Vista and the 2.0?

Asked by: Eric
Hey there, Thanks for the question. The Vista has a fully removable top, and the fly sheet and insect mesh both unclip from the floor. It also has 4 entry points. The Stingray has an attached insect mesh along with 2 entry points and is better for all weather camping. I hope this helps!

Interesting that the packed weight is not listed.... how much does this monster weigh?

Asked by: dave
Hey Dave! This item weighs 9kg / 20lbs. Tentsile wanted me to mention that once you're really experienced with this tent and feeling confident, you should be able to you can save up to 2.kg / 6lbs by dropping 2 ratchets from your system.

Does it come with a ladder?

Asked by: Merrit
Hey, Merrit! This does not come with a ladder. For most applications, the preferable installation would have the tent around mid torso / chest height (no more than 4 feet). This would allow you to hoist yourself in without the assistance of a ladder. Tentsile says their tents should never be positioned at a height more than you can safely fall from, hence not including ladders. If you have to have your tent setup higher than recommended or are not comfortable hoisting yourself in to the tent, you can certainly purchase the optional ladder here: https://bit.ly/2ugAs71 Or you can use things around the site - just make sure it will not do harm should you accidentally fall on it.
