Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft quality Soft shirt that’s great quality. Will say it runs on the small side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect hiking shirt Perfect shirt for warmer outdoor activities, quick drying material keeps you comfortable all day. It is thin and on the smaller side, might consider sizing up. #sweepstakes [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this shirt Have worn this shirt for long distance hiking. Love it. Wears very well. My go to shirt. It's been in use for 5 years. Had to get another one [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shape changed drastically after line drying I purchased this shirt prior to a 2-month research trip to East Africa. The lightweight wool is ideal for long days working outdoors in rural areas, and I was really pleased with the shirt at first. After hand washing I hung it on a line to dry. The shirt must not have been completely straight as I hung it, and now the two side seams are twisted around the waist, with one extending from the armpit down across the front and the other extending down around the lower back. I've tried washing again and re-shaping while the wool is wet, even putting the shirt on while damp and gently re-shaping the seams around my body as it dries, but the change seems irreversible. The new positions of these seams make the fit uncomfortably tight in odd places, such as in one shoulder and the opposite hip. I'm surprised and disappointed, especially for such an expensive t-shirt, that a pretty innocuous hand-washing and line drying could cause this issue.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The new design is terrible I've owned over 40 of these in black; they have been part of my everyday uniform for years. One, because I liked the former material, and two, because they develop holes and wear out so very easily (both the old style and the new style). If you're getting the "new" style - that's the one with the rainbow inside the collar and what they're currently selling here - this material is awful. (And why did they add that scratchy rainbow collar?) Is there less merino wool in this "new and improved" version? The old material would never smell and I could wear for days on end if backpacking. The new ones smell terrible after a night out on the town. (I walk a lot, and I don't wear deodorant) Although I was promised the new ones were better quality, they wear down just as fast because I have to wash them three times as often. Both styles, old and new, have always had very off sizing. I wear a size L in almost any other brand, but the Smartwool XS fits everything as it should *except* for in the chest area where it's too small; however the S is far too baggy everywhere else. Also, watch the vertical stitching really carefully the waist area - I liked the contouring, but it's often stitched asymmetrical and that just looks weird. I'm really annoyed I need to go find a new everyday shirt now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent shirt! I love this shirt. It's soft, comfortable, and perfect for hiking. It dries quickly and doesn't retain any stench. I highly recommend it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wife loves it! Bought this for my wife to have a high quality shirt for dayhikes. She's very pleased with the fit, feel, and function of the shirt. It seems to run a little small size wise, but that's NBD.
