Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect weight I needed a heavier base layer for skiing....I'm always cold. Every merino wool layer seems to be too thin. I bought my ski pants slightly bigger so I could get an underlayer with some volume and these are it! I haven't had a chance to try them yet so that's the 4 instead of 5 rating. I'm hoping for the best.

Merino wool is the best. Usually she doesn't like wool against her skin - too itchy - but not these. :)

I use them for cold bike rides, hikes and skiing and I love smartwool as a whole. Quality material and it keeps us plenty warm.

These are the warmest baselayers that I have, and I love them for resort days and super cold touring days. They're pretty fitted (and don't have much stretch), so I'd size up if you have larger hips and thighs.

SLIM FIT: Follows the contour of the body.

REGULAR FIT: Room to move without additional bulk.

RELAXED FIT: Offers more room without being baggy.

LOW RISE: Sits low on the hips, approximately 3 inches below the belly button.

MID RISE: Sits high on the hips, approximately 2 inches below the belly button.

HIGH RISE: Sits above the hips. Slightly above the belly button.

HOW to MEASURE
CHEST / BUST: Measure under the arms, around the fullest part of chest and back circumference.

WAIST: Measure around the natural waistline, keeping tape a bit loose.

HIGH HIP: Measure around high hip circumference approximately 3" below natural waistline.

HIP: Measure around the fullest part of hip circumference, parallel to the floor.

ARM LENGTH: With elbow bent slightly, measure from center back of neck, across top of shoulder, to elbow and down to wrist bone.

INSEAM: Measure along inside leg from crotch to ankle bone. Or measure a well-fitting baselayer from crotch seam to pant leg bottom.
