I prefer not to have the restrictions of a jacket, so my under layers need to keep me warm. This Smartwool shirt is my go to! I want more colors!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Itchy and Tight in Shoulders I was jealous of my boyfriend's Smartwool shirts so thought I'd get my own. Sadly, while his old 150s are soft on the skin, this new "all-season" feels like a hair shirt. Brief internet research tells me they switched from 100% merino to a nylon core for durability. Unfortunately, they did not figure out how to make it soft. I thought I might get used to it, so I tried wearing it, but couldn't even make it 15 minutes. It's also somewhat tight at the shoulders for a raglan. I am usually between S and M (38/28/40, 5'9", 145 lbs), but the medium was right up in my armpits. A large would probably have worked better even if too big in the waist. Aside from the fabric, the seams are very high quality and the blue spruce color is lovely. The fabric is a dealbreaker, though. I'll be trying the Icebreaker 200 instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome base layer! This has been my go to base layer since using it on my Appalachian Trail thru hike. I usually wear this and a shell to hike in during the fall and into winter-- perfect combo for not getting too hot and staying warm. Super soft and is true to size.

I wonder how many percentage of wool in this one.

Hey there thanks for your question. The Smartwool 150 base layers are 87% Merino Wool, 13% Nylon. They use a nylon core to increase its durability but still maintain 100% Merino wool next to skin. I hope this info helps!

SLIM FIT: Follows the contour of the body.

REGULAR FIT: Room to move without additional bulk.

RELAXED FIT: Offers more room without being baggy.

LOW RISE: Sits low on the hips, approximately 3 inches below the belly button.

MID RISE: Sits high on the hips, approximately 2 inches below the belly button.

HIGH RISE: Sits above the hips. Slightly above the belly button.

HOW to MEASURE
CHEST / BUST: Measure under the arms, around the fullest part of chest and back circumference.

WAIST: Measure around the natural waistline, keeping tape a bit loose.

HIGH HIP: Measure around high hip circumference approximately 3" below natural waistline.

HIP: Measure around the fullest part of hip circumference, parallel to the floor.

ARM LENGTH: With elbow bent slightly, measure from center back of neck, across top of shoulder, to elbow and down to wrist bone.

INSEAM: Measure along inside leg from crotch to ankle bone. Or measure a well-fitting baselayer from crotch seam to pant leg bottom.
