Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but not waterproof in the strict sense I have used mine on dozens of week long whitewater rafting trips, including 78 days on 4 Grand Canyon trips. It holds the map very securely but it did take on water. Not s big deal really, although it would be nice. The d rings have held up through 2 flips in the Grand including Lava. Security is more important than water resistance so I give this a decent rating. The seal is basically a beefy zip lock so it is easy to use. Considering how many times I pull the map out to switch pages it works well. Well enough that I am buying a second one because of sand scratching the plastic making it cloudy after over 300 river days. It does the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Charts dry for 2 weeks Needed to take full size charts with me on 2 week kayak trip and the large SealLine Map Case did the job. We were in pouring rain and the cases were wet constantly while paddling and my charts remained dry the entire time. I know the "zip locks" don't last under extended use, but they sure did the trick for me. Very, very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from durable over several years I have used the small map case for years--for a number of different applications. I initially used the case in the Boundary Waters to protect my maps. Subsequently, because of the visibility of the contents, I used the case to store my "shaving kit" and meds for air travel-- it is easy to get out and see what's in it when asked by TSA or if I'm just using it personally by the sink in a hotel. Subsequently, I used it to protect my cell phone and keys while I'm swimming laps. (I'm a physician and on-call a bunch, so having a water tight case to protect my cell phone at the head wall of the lap lane is useful so I do not have to get out of the pool periodically to check for calls and messages. The plastic is durable. I just got the first tear in the material after 5-6 years. The reason I'm on the website is to order a couple more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Map Case! Solid, dependable and rugged map case! There is no other Map Case one should ever consider using. I have only used Seal Line Map Cases for over a decade as an Adventure Racer. As Adventure Racers, we drag these cases through every type of weather and rough wooded environment one could think of and much more. They maintain their seals and never rip or tear like so many other map case do. I would and do highly recommend these cases to everyone I come into contact with and our race Org buys these and gives them away as prizes at Soggy Bottom Boys Racing Adventure Races...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ripped early in the trip It was only halfway through our trip down the grand canyon when this map case ripped on me. At least the map was made of waterproof materials but had to get out the other information that I store there as well. Very disappointing performance. I did like the design and ability to tie down on different corners thought so it gets one extra star for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great map case, great doing business with Moosejaw While I haven't used the small SealLine map case yet, I'm familiar with the product because I already had a size medium (which is actually quite large!). These cases are very well made, transparent, and they do keep rain out when sealed properly. For me, one of the best features of these map cases are the attached D-rings, which allow a variety of secure hook-ups (in my case, usually my trail motorcycle, which I love to ride on back roads). The case was on sale, significantly less expensive than at other suppliers I researched, and the sales associate agreed to free shipping! I'd never dealt with Moosejaw before and was pleasantly surprised at every aspect of my contact with this company: the sales girl SANG out the word "Moosejaw" in a lovely voice when she answered the phone; the great price; the free shipping (although my small purchase didn't actually qualify); and finally, the very humorous & unusual little comments scattered throughout every Moosejaw publication & document! This company has made buying stuff actually fun, & when you're having fun while getting a great deal, what's not to like?! My experience has made me a Moosejaw customer for life -- I'll check there first whenever I need gear. I wish every company would follow Moosejaw's lighthearted approach to business; the world might just become a happier place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constantly leaks I purchased a medium chart case this summer to keep my chart handy with kayaking. I am a kayak guide in the San Juan Islands and use my chart daily. From the start, my SealLine case leaked in water, getting my chart wet (which is waterproof, so not a huge problem) but any of my tides/current/weather/planning I wrote on a separate sheet of paper would be illegible after a few hours. I constantly tried to get a better seal and avoid leaks but as the summer comes to an end, I realize it is the case and not me sealing it improperly. I am really disappointed and would seek out another chart case if you want your things to stay dry.

What are the dimensions in inches of the different sizes?

Asked by: Mountain Mookie
In a size small, the compartment width is 6 in, the compartment length is 10.5 in. In a medium, the compartment width is 10 in, the compartment length is 14.5 in. In a large, the compartment width is 14 in, the compartment length is 2.5 in. For the overall width, add 2 in. to each compartment width. For the overall length, add 1.5 in. to each compartment length.
