Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.
Leaving Moosejaw Rewards Program:
You may choose to leave the Moosejaw Rewards program at any time by logging in and clicking on the “Opt out Rewards Program” link within the My Account Summary page, Email, calling 877-MOOSEJAW (877-666-7352) or in-store with help from our employees. If you leave the rewards program, any unused MJ$ will be voided upon completion of your request.
Earning MJ$:
All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).
Checking & Redeeming MJ$:
On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. In stores, provide the email address attached to your account to learn your balance and apply to your purchase. We will also send you a monthly email that details your balance and other account activity. This is a transactional email that you will receive even if you are not subscribed to our marketing emails.
Bonus Rewards Promotions:
Every so often, we'll have special offers where you can earn bonus MJ$, like an additional 10%, 20% or 40% back. So if we are running a 50% back special offer, and you buy a regular-priced item for $100.00, you will receive MJ$10.00 in base points, and a bonus of MJ$40. These special offers may have a cap on how many bonus MJ$ you earn during the promotion, but you will always earn the base Reward Dollars. MJ$ on Gift Cards:
You don't get earn MJ$ when you buy a gift card, but you do get MJ$ when you spend a gift card. Sorry gift givers. You're welcome gift receivers.
Product Returns and MJ$:
If you return an item, we deduct the MJ$ earned on that item from your balance. If you used the MJ$ and your balance is less than deduction, then your refund is reduced by the difference.
Program Abuse:
The intent of the program is to provide our loyal customers with a way to buy great gear for less. Moosejaw reserves the right to remove any user from the program and zero out their MJ$ balance if Moosejaw determines that the user is abusing the program by buying for resale, attempting to game the program or any other reason at Moosejaw's sole discretion.

Men's Scarpa Kailash Trek GTXThe boots are amazingly comfortable. I have worn them on camping trips with some water crossings, hiking, general outdoor activities, and also some around the house work. Once I figured out how to tie them to fit my foot better I couldn't hardly tell I had them on. They breathe well and my feet feel fresh and dry. I also wear wool socks which add to that. That traction is there for me in everything I've put them through. I believe I've found my new favorite boots.

Scarpa boots are the best.This is my 4th pair of scarpa boots that I own and these are the best. I wear them for work everyday and hiking. These boots may be on more of the aggressive side but they ware like a lite hiking boot.

Great bootsThese boots seem to have good range of adjustability coming from the laces, which allows for you to customize the fit and minimize foot and sole movement inside.
Speaking of which, I normally fit well in "wide" option on hiking shoes, but on the Scarpa I did not need that and they were exactly matching my street shoe size.

The Boots I've Been Looking ForI have an old pair of Scarpa hiking boots - about 18 years old, to be exact - that have served me heroically over the years. I even had them resoled recently. Even though they are still going strong, about two years ago I decided it was time for a new pair. I like a sturdy pair of backpacking boots, with a stiffer sole, GORE-TEX waterproofing, and with some mesh in the construction (because all leather isn't breathable and is too hot). The only boots at the time I found to check all my boxes were made by Asolo. They felt great in the store. They felt great just casually walking around. But on the trail, they gave me terrible heel blisters. I decided they were a half size too small, so I returned them for a half size larger. They felt better in the store and casually walking around, but again they gave me terrible heel blisters. I tried no less than four different brands and weights of socks, with no relief. I kept trying to break them in, but they still gave me blisters. So I went back to using my old Scarpa boots full-time. Then I came across the Scarpa Kailash boots at Moosejaw, and decided to give them a try. I ordered the same size as my old Scarpas, and right out of the box they were totally comfortable. The fit was nearly identical to my old boots. They DID give me a mild heel blister the very first time I wore them, but I attribute that to being new boots, and also to the fact that I had not hiked in two months at the time. Subsequent hikes (I've probably got 40+ miles on them now) have not caused any additional blisters, and the Kailash boots are totally comfortable and really sturdy. In fact I love them so much I ordered a second pair to have in reserve so I don't have to go through this drama again when I need my next new pair! My only complaint so far is that they are just a tiny bit more snug than my old Scarpas, and when I try to install my standard Superfeet aftermarket footbeds, the fit is just a little too snug. I'm hoping they may loosen up just a bit with use, and that the suede may stretch just a little so I can install my Superfeet footbeds.

Great boots, durable and comfortable out of the boFinally writing my review. I love these boots. I will probably never own another boot so long as Scarpa keeps making this one. I have over 700 miles on my first pair and just ordered a second pair. Most of the miles have been on extended backpacking trips (and training for those hikes). Great combination of support, durability, lighter weight, and water proof. I can wear these boots all day. Uppers and lacing prevent my toe from hitting the toe box when going down steeper slopes. Everyone's foot different. I'm just glad I found the Scarpa Kailash.

Comfortable, Light, and good fit.So far, I am very pleased with these boots. I've been wearing them around the house and town, and just wore them on the trail for a day hike last week. I wear a men's size 10.5 and have a relatively narrow foot, and the size 44 fit spot on for me. This is my first pair of lighter weight Scarpa boots after using the Scarpa full grained leather boots for backpacking and working in the woods for decades. Of course, the real test will be when I use them backpacking this summer.

If you typically wear a either a 10 or 10.5, id recommend you go with the 43.5, but if you wear 10.5 or 11, id go with the 44.

You asked a great question! I just confirmed with our friends at Scarpa that this boot is completely manufactured at their facility in Romania, so all parts of the boot are made there.
They even double checked this answer to make sure this is correct. They said all of their facilities are fully owned by Scarpa, so whichever facility makes the boot or shoe, they make the entire boot or shoe.d
