Last updated January 1st, 2020
Opting-in to Moosejaw Rewards:
All users must accept these terms and conditions and create an account with Moosejaw to opt-in to the program and earn, accrue, retain and redeem Moosejaw Reward Dollars (MJ$). The program is FREE to join and membership is ongoing until or unless the user requests to be removed or is removed due to abuse of the program. Users can opt-in to the program while checking out on Moosejaw.com or at one of our stores or at any time within 30 days of purchase to accrue the MJ$ earned on that purchase. Once opted-in to the program, MJ$ will earn and accrue for redemption as described below until the MJ$ expire or the user leaves the program.
All information collected and used to facilitate the Moosejaw Rewards program is directly related to the program's ability to provide value to the customer. A customer opting-in to the Moosejaw Rewards program is a separate action from establishing a user profile as a result of making a purchase.
The program opt-in requirement was added on August 6th, 2019. Existing program members prior to that date must still formally opt-in and accept the terms and conditions to continue to retain, earn and redeem MJ$. Pre-existing program members that fail to opt-in prior to June 28, 2020 will be removed from the program, and any unused MJ$ will be voided. We really, really don't want to that to happen, so please opt-in or we'll feel terrible.

All items we sell are eligible with the exception of gift cards or other items specifically noted. Full-priced items earn 10% back while discounted items earn 2.5%. "Discounted items" includes items on sale or discounted via coupon code or use of MJ$. You do not earn MJ$ for shipping or tax charges, only from the item value. MJ$ expire two years after earning and are redeemed on a first-in, first out basis (in other words, we always use your oldest MJ$ that are closest to expiration).

On Moosejaw.com, just sign-in on any page to see your available balance. Once signed in, you will see your available MJ$ and maximum that can be redeemed in the payment section of the checkout process. They've changed some design featuresFull disclosure: I have yet to test these boots in the backcountry, and so my review should be taken with some moderate skepticism. However, I do have ten years of experience using these boots. This review is for my recent purchase of my second pair of Scarpa Inverno boots.
Scarpa Invernos, while heavy, are an extremely warm and bombproof alpine winter boot. I've been using them seeing 2009. When you're going to be walking and backcountry camping in subzero temperatures, Scarpa Inverno are an excellent choice. My old pair lasted ten years of winter backpacking in New Hampshire's White Mountains, known to have some of the worst weather in the world.
I finally had to buy a new pair, and while I haven't taken these out on their maiden hike yet, I've noted a few concerning changes in design. First of all, their is no longer a fabric finger loop on the back ankle to help pull the plastic shell over the insulated inner as you put the boots on. The lack of this fingerloop is extremely inconvenient, making it much more difficult to get the shell over the inner boot. I can't understand why Scarpa decided to remove this rather simple and what I have to imagine is a relatively cheap feature given the exorbitant cost of these boots. Speaking of which, I was rather chagrined to find that these boots were so very expensive. Then again, I trust my feet to these boots in subzero temperatures and so I consider them worth the money. I do recall them being cheaper ten years ago.
Secondly, I would also point out that the heel cup feels narrower than my old pair. Now, that might be the case because I gradually broke in my old inner boots, and maybe the outer shell loosened or stretched a little with use. So, I'm hoping that's the case and the boots will gradually grow more comfortable with use. But, right now, it may be due to a change Scarpa made in its design? The heel cup definitely feels as though it could cause me hot spots and form blisters, a problem I never had with my old pair. I may feel compelled to pre-tape, which is also something I never do with any of my boots in any season. I don't tend to get blister, thankfully. I bought these Scarpa Inverno boots in size 11 US.
Finally, and this may just be my subjective impression here, but the rocker on this new pair feels less aggressive than my old pair. I really loved that feature in my old Scarpa Inverno; the rocker felt as though it was helping me, propelling me forward as I walked. As I walk around the house in my new pair, it seems less so. That said, I may find that they simply take some getting used to and I'll see they work great out in the field. Time will tell.

Good deal from a well respected boot makerI bought these after getting back from an Alaska sheep hunt where I should have had these instead. The guide and his fellow guide use a double boot combination exclusively with Glacier Socks. After having wet, cold feet for 5 days, I realized why they use this combination. Very good support and relatively light considering they are a plastic double boot. Website suggested ordering 1/2 size larger than normal which I did and the boots are plenty big. I may have been able to get by with 1/2 size smaller, but better slightly larger. I have a very wide foot and my other Scarpa boots(Mont Blanc GTX's) are more narrow, so I like the Inverno's better. I probably could have saved a lot of money if I had bought the Inverno's at the start for this particular application, but they will still be used in the future.

Great entry levelboots for hardcore mountaineeringI ended up returning them because then were too heavy duty for why I was doing. Very heavy, but if you’re looking for mega support and waterproof, these are the boots for you.

warm and durab;ebought these last year at the start of alpine season. they are heavy! but, after the second day I did not notice. they are the warmest boot I have ever used. they handled ice climbing, mixed climbing, steep 14 ers and negative temps. and they show virtually no wear after a full season. great value!.

Excellent boots - A little on the heavy sideExtremely warm and durable. Used for a six day mountaineering course this past January in temps down to -20. I did start to feel cold toes after an extended period of being stationary (to be expected) but once I began moving again the issue resolved itself. Used the Invernos backpacking, snowshoeing and with crampons and they performed very well. I began to feel mild shin bang on one leg after the sixth day but no other issues. You can certainly find lighter and more technical boots but at twice the price. I found these to be more than adequate and consider them to be workhorses that will last a very long time. If you know what you’re buying, you’ll be happy with your purchase. Make sure you choose the size according to how you layer your socks.

Warm and rugged.Bought these after having to turn back with cold toes. Shouldn't be an issue anymore. Warm. Easy to wear. Nice introduction to stiffer boots. Looking forward to testing them furthermore.

Classic styling makes for comfort and warmthMountaineering boots are moving towards single-boot, leather designs that are lighter (and pricey) but the Scarpa Inverno reminds us that there is still wisdom and value in the more traditional double-booted style of plastic shell and inner soft liner. Out here in New England where there are rapid changes in winter temperatures and precipitation, the Inverno is perfect for insuring all-day warmth even at sub-zero temperatures and dry feet even in slushy conditions. The Adirondack Mountain Club, in fact, requires double-boot design for its winter mountaineering courses. Moosejaw is one of the few stores that maintains a good selection of styles and sizes of mountaineering boots. The Inverno shoe last is slightly wider than alternatives, which is a plus even if your foot is normal width. Best sizing for me is a full size above normal shoe size.
SCARPA INVERNO BOOT. I usually wear a 9.5. Will this boot fit 9.5 or do I need to order a larger size?
Asked by: willy69
Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out to Moosejaw! For this particular Scarpa boot, I would suggest ordering a size 10 and try them on while wearing a thick sock and walking around indoors for 'bout an hour.

Hey! I'm a woman with US women shoe size 7,5 (I wear women size 8 for hiking boots).
What size should I order these boots?
Thank you!!
Asked by: Colette
Thanks for the question! Since these are Men's boots, you will want a size 7 US - which is the equivalent to a Women's 8 US. Scarpa always advises to go up 1/2 to 1 full size - to accommodate for your sock thickness. Hope this helps!

Do these boots accept crampons?
Asked by: Steve
Hey there,
Awesome questions! These boots do work with most crampons! A good crampon to try out for this boot would be the Grivel G14 Cramp-O-Matic! I hope this helps.

Are these currently listed in UK or US sizes?
Thanks!

Great question! The sizes are listed in UK. So if you select a UK size 7, that would be equivalent to a USA Men's size 8 or a Women's size 9. I hope this helps!
