I'm not understanding why I need to buy such a large size when the shoes in my closet are up to 3 sizes smaller. Is this just a new way to size shoes? Seems to be that way with all of my shoes. . .

Sole is also more narrow making it kind of tippy and has caused me to turn my ankle. Tread is grippy and laces are nice. I prefer the 11s
