Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superlight cushion + Grip and Protection My favorite trail shoe ever! The sticky rubber lugs underfoot are great in any sloppy terrain; think mud, snow, or scree. The midsole is responsive, but plush, crucial in a shoe with this stack height. it flexes great but has awesome protection through the forefoot and midfoot due to the Profeel film technology. Like all S Lab shoes, the upper is a bit lower volume (narrow) in order to ensure the best foothold! That foothold is incredible by the way, with the flexible heel counter cupping any footshape, and the overlays on the last keeping the foot secure bombing down sloppy gnarly mountainsides. Finally, the drainage is next level. The mountains where I live are often quite wet, and having a quick draining shoe is awesome going in and out of all the creeks. The upper materials don't hold water weight, and the sockliner is sewn into the shoe, so it never gets loose. This shoe has everything you want, and nothing you don't for running fast in the mountains!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grip n' Rip This shoe fits similar to the Salomon S/Lab Sense trail shoes, but offers more breathability with the unique upper material. This is a great shoe for muddy terrain, or hot weather. I wore this on a trip to Kauai running up and down the Waimea Canyon, which is super slick due to the slope grade, rain and mud, but the XA Amphib grips really well, and allowed for all the mud and water to easily drain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick Draining Shoe is designed as more of a minimal style, with deep lugs. Works great in wet muddy conditions. Drains very well and wick drying. Snug fit and could be worn without socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes! I was hesitating buying these particular shoes, but got them recently because wanted to try the vent system (or water drainage if you will) that they have. Figured if the shoe doesn't hold water, then it must be true for sweat - and it worked. I did quick 12 miles on extremely technical terrain with high humidity, about 99% that day. It heavy rained a day prior as well as overnight. Needless to say that no shoe would be completely grippy in conditions like these, and this shoe was not an exception. However, I slipped maybe 4-5 times, one of which was badly, but it was not bad at all. The shoe is super lightweight and very comfy, was running without socks, thus got little bruised, which is not a big deal. Overall impression is superb. Cannot wait to try them in dry conditions, which I'm sure they will exceed my expectations as any S/Lab product. Great job Salomon!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Allows Too Much Debris I bought these for a Spartan Super, and have previously worn the S-Lab Sense SG for all my runs. I figured these would be better because they help evacuate the water. They definitely evacuate water, but what I don't understand is how are you gonna make a racing water shoe that allows so much debris inside the shoe? I had to stop almost every time I got out of the water just to clean all the rocks and sand out. These are also a little more narrow, and run a little larger than my S-Lab Sense SG 3 & 4. I wouldn't buy these again. Especially at this price. on the flipside, I did not have any blisters or hot spots on the 8+ mile race. They were fairly comfortable on my flat feet, for being so narrow...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have I bought these shoes a few months ago, love them for trail running when having to cross shallow waterways. I have been wearing Amphibians for years. I got my start with Tech Amphibians over 15 years ago doing adventure racing. Love the look. No blisters. True fit.

HOW to MEASURE
If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the following steps:

1. Use a shoe box or a wall with a 90 degree angle.

2. Find a sheet of paper or a sheet of cardboard, a ruler and a pen.

3. Make sure that you are wearing the same socks that you would normally wear with this type of shoe.

4. Wearing these socks, stand on the sheet of paper and place the outside of your foot against the wall or place your foot in the shoe box with you heel wedged firmly against the back.

5. Then us your pen and ruler to draw a line just in front of your big toe. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left sizes may be different.

6. Measure the distance between the wall or the side of the shoebox and the line that you have just drawn.

7. Find this measurement in Centimeters in the size chart above.
