Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor durability Finally got these boots I wanted after my other brand boots wore out after 10 years. Only 2 months old and the seams are gonna blow out? Most expensive boots I've tried and the least durable. They haven't even been through a hike yet. Poor quality stitch right where the boot bends. Very disappointed with these boots. After raving about them when I got them now idk that I can buy Solomon's again.. Very disappointed

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warm, but hole forms where foot bends within month These boots are really warm and super comfy (5 stars for those qualities). I wear them with regular socks in negative10 C temps and my feet stay nice and toasty, but unfortunately, that is where the pros end for me. I got two pair of these during winter last year because the shipping company shipped two pair thinking one was lost in transit and they just told me to keep both. A hole wore in the outer part of the boot where your foot bends within a month or so on the first pair. Salomon replaced that pair under warranty. Winter season was over, so I saved the second pair for this years season (2017-2018). I am wearing the second pair now and the same hole has started again after about a month. I walk about 3 miles a day on paved sidewalks in them, so I shouldn't be exceeding any limitations of a boot. I definitely won't be purchasing them again. The price is far too steep to just get one month of use out of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid! I work construction in Montana and needed some warm but nimble work boots, these fit the bill. Ultra lite and fairly comfortable, I added a soft footbed. Very roomy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots Very warm. A little stiff and requires some break in. I normally wear a 9.5 in other brands, so I ordered a 9.5 and they fit great for me. Too early to tell about the durability of them. Very happy with them so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Cold Weather Boot I have worn these boots snowshoeing and hiking. They are very comfortable and warm, I bought a half size up to ensure enough toe room and allow for thicker socks. The only draw back is they do get wet inside, since they are more waterproof than breathable. I combat this by taking the inserts out after each use to dry and letting my heat vent blow into the boot for a few hours. This tends to dry them out in a couple of hours.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Odd fit issues Dedicated Solomon consumer, probably 9 pairs to date. Had real high expectations for these given the reviews but upon receipt I had some reservations on the fit. Mainly with the toe box - it is cavernous. My toes are snug, lengthwise but there must be a cm above them. Which after break in has resulted in a defined crease in the dense rubber across my instep when walking and is actually real uncomfortable. I don't know why they did this. I saw one other review where the complaint was a cracking in the rubber at this same point which I dismissed as bad sizing but I now I'm anticipating the same down the road. This aside, I defer to other review remarks for typical Solomon high quality in warmth, wp, and traction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Perfect boots! I'll try to keep it simple starting with a pro/con: Pros: 1. Very comfortable. VERY! The entire inside is plush with no irregular or hard spots I see on most other boots. No pinching, rubbing, nothing. 2. Toe box is nice and spacious without being too loose. Warm toes! 3. Rubber lower will ensure my feet stay dry 4. Microspikes and snowshoes fit like a glove. The little recess/tab on the back of the heel holds a strap well. 5. Light and WARM. These boots impress me every time. Be careful not to wear socks that are too heavy...it's easy to overdo it. 6. These are winter boots you can actually hike in comfortably. They are light and not bulky, making them feel more like 3-season mid hikers. Easy to fit gaiters over the top. Cons: 1. Sizing is a bit small. I wear 10-10.5 and had to go with 11. No big deal once you figure it out. If you find a seller with free exchanges, this doesn't matter. Since these are warm, waterproof boots, they're not going to breathe. That's not a con, it's just how life works. Your feet sweat more than any part of your body whether you realize it or not. So even after a 1hr hike, you're going to be in trouble with cold feet if just sitting around in camp for the rest of the day. On multi-day trips, the problem is compounded. Switching to dry socks helps, but moisture will already be built up in the boot. I recommend using vapor barrier socks (basically a plastic bag over your feet), then a sock over that, to keep moisture inside that and away from the boot's insulation. Dry socks+dry boots = warm feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good cold weather boot without bulk This is a new updated version of a Salomon boot I have had for over 10 years. As a winter guide I use it for everything from snow shoveling to snowmobiling. It is comfortable and keeps my feet warm working in snow and frigid conditions.

MEASUREMENT GUIDE

If you are unsure of how to find your foot measurement, use the instructions below. You will need a sheet of paper, ruler, pen, and a pair of socks you intend on wearing with the shoes you pick out.

• While wearing the socks, stand on the sheet of paper and place the heel of your foot against the wall. Make sure your heel is wedged firmly against it.

• Use the pen and ruler to draw a straight line just in front of your big toe.

• Use the ruler to measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew in front of your big toe.

• Once you have your measuremet, refer to the Foot Measurement Size Conversion chart above.

• Now treat yourself to a candy bar. You've worked hard today.
