Rated 5 out of 5 by from Max Comfort I feel these shoes far exceed what other maximal trail shoes offer. The ride is cushioned and responsive. You dont feel like you are sinking in like you can with other max cushioned shoes. The fit of the shoes is perfect and plenty of space in the toe box. If you are checking these shoes out definitely buy them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable shoes Prior to this, I was wearing the newer Sense Rides. The Sense Pro Max have better support and cushioning. I have been wearing them on my longer runs and some shorter ones, and they have handled everything I have thrown at them from sidewalk and dry trails to mud and snow and ice. Not sure I would change anything about them at this time. Can't give them 5 stars yet as I have only worn them for a month and just over 100miles, but these are easily some of my favorite shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very versatile shoe Have put 100 miles on them and they might be my favorite trail shoe. I live in the PNW where it's wet and soft and so far these have held up great. Frequently transition from pavement to trail and it's no problem. Only reason they don't get five stars is I'm not sold on the laces. They're pretty narrow and if they're pulled too tight you can definitely feel it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great max cushion shoe As with most Salomons they run a tad narrow but as they break in it gets better. These have slightly more room in the toes that the pro 2’s. I went up 1/2 size from normal and also have a full size up pair for when I need to wear heavier socks or my feet swell. Extremely comfortable, not as stiff as other max cushion shoes, traction is great and they’ll handle much more than light trails - really they’ll do just about anything you need them to do. I’ve even started using them on the road. My only complaint is that the toe box/midfoot us pretty narrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just roomy enough! This is my first pair of Salomon shoes, I have been a huge fan of their other products and gear for a long time, bu their shoes have always been too narrow in the toe box for me. Been running in a competitor that has a super roomy toe box, as I have toes all the same length, I need space to accommodate them (think Fred Flintstone), but I also have been having Achilles tendinosis. So I don't need the zero drop. I now have over 100 miles on the Sense Pro Max and am already considering getting another pair, not because of any wear but because I like them and I am afraid they may change them. These shoes have been super comfortable for me, and while not as wide in the toe box as the other brand, the Sense Pro Max feels as if it wraps the foot so that I don't get the hot spots on the edges of my big and little toes. I have been surprised at how well they fit. My only critique and it's a semi-critique is that the shoe for being a 'max' doesn't really feel like one, the cushioning isn't that soft. That said, they seem to work to minimize the impact of running more than a standard maximal shoe, plus the firmness keeps the feel underfoot fast. You don't get that sense of lost energy you do with some of the super soft shoes. Planning on using them for a 40 miler in a couple months, so that will be final test if I keep them in my ultra quiver for later this summer. The signs are good as it stands now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice cushion but... I love the fit, feel and durability of almost all of the saloman shoes I have tried. These however not so much. First the good...great protection, great cushion, nice overall ride. I have a pretty narrow foot, and the width seemed about right for me, but I did really have to snug them up way more than I have for any other shoe. They also seem to come up a bit higher on my ankle causing it so dig in while walking—but not running. These are foot specific isssues, and not really the reason why I have it such a low rating. Durablity: I ripped the first lug off at at 89 miles and it has just continued to happen. At this rate I seriously doubt the shoe will last 200 miles. Really disappointed with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Do It All Shoe This shoe continues to be my go to for anything I can toss at it. There is just the right amount of cushion and grip to make it feel equally at home on long trail runs and quick runs to the gym. The synch lacing system holds my foot well in the shoe even after long pounding descents. My only grip is that for my foot the shoe is slightly narrow but the construction is forgiving enough that it has not caused a problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could be better! The overall fit and performance of this shoe is great. I've run a lot of trail miles in this particular shoe very comfortably. However, the main issue I have with this shoe is durability. After a few runs in them, the bottom of the sole (tread) starts to literally peel off the shoe! It starts at the top and works it way back on the shoe. Very frustrating!

MEASUREMENT GUIDE

If you are unsure of how to find your foot measurement, use the instructions below. You will need a sheet of paper, ruler, pen, and a pair of socks you intend on wearing with the shoes you pick out.

• While wearing the socks, stand on the sheet of paper and place the heel of your foot against the wall. Make sure your heel is wedged firmly against it.

• Use the pen and ruler to draw a straight line just in front of your big toe.

• Use the ruler to measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew in front of your big toe.

• Once you have your measuremet, refer to the Foot Measurement Size Conversion chart above.

• Now treat yourself to a candy bar. You've worked hard today.
