Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sad to report a defect Purchased these boots to hike a few hundred kilometers of the Northern Camino de Santiago. After less than 15 miles of break in, and less than 10 days on the Camino, the main lace hook broke off while unlacing. Had to rig the boot without a main hook for the last 100 + - miles on the Camino. Been a Salomon guy for over 30 years. This defect/equipment failure shakes my confidence in Salomon.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible tread durability - otherwise great boots I've done a total of about 15 miles in these boots so far. About 4 miles through the snow to the summit of Mt. St. Helens (skied down) and about 11 miles in Haleakala National Park through the crater of the mountain. Neither was particularly crazy terrain (though Haleakala did have sand on some parts of the trail). Parts of the treads of these boots already look similar to the treads on my last pair of Asolo Fugitive boots that I had for ~8 years and logged probably 1000 miles in. Sections of the tread have straight up fallen off the boot. See photos. All heel and toe sections of the treads on both the left and right boots having missing parts of the treads after just 15 miles. Otherwise so far this is a good boot and slightly wider than other Salomon boots I tried on (which was good for my flat feet). But based on the very poor tread durability, I would not recommend buying these unless walking on very mellow terrain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome fitting and so comfortable Only had thes for two weeks but have worn them constantly to evaluate before heading to Scandinavia and onto Europe for 6 weeks of full on travels by what ever way we can move including many hikes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and durable out of the box. I purchased these a few weeks ago and have used them sparingly in that time. I am partial to trail runners for dry, warmer hikes but I needed a new pair of boots that would help keep my feet dry and warm for messier occasions. Straight out of the box, they are comfortable and light weight for the construction and purpose they serve. Putting a lot of miles down, I wanted something that wasn't going to be a huge weight burden and all things considered, these were lighter than I expected. I wore them out on some rainy days so far and had no issues with my feet getting wet despite splashing around more than I normally would. I will be using them in an upcoming trip to Norway and will put them through to the test there, but so far my initial impression is that they are worth the money I spent (I got them on sale). Durability and comfort on a long trip is still up in the air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loving this boot So far I have used these boots a few times and they have been great. They are taking a bit to break in. The only issue is the shoe lace seperated after my first use so im holding it together till I am able to find a replacement long emough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far a great purchase While I have not had the opportunity to backpack in these boots yet, they have proved to be trustworthy in mixed terrain hikes. They have provided ample support and protection against varied terrain and wet conditions. Thumbs up so far

Why are the width sizing unlisted ? (ie) M, E, EE, EEE

Asked by: Clasvi
Hey! Not all brands make varying width shoes. There are a handful of brands that do. This particular boot is not offered in anything other than standard width (M). If you need help getting acquainted with some boots that could fit your needed width, you can hop on chat or give us a call and we can give you a more customized answer.

If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the following steps:

1. Use a shoe box or a wall with a 90 degree angle.

2. Find a sheet of paper or a sheet of cardboard, a ruler and a pen.

3. Make sure that you are wearing the same socks that you would normally wear with this type of shoe.

4. Wearing these socks, stand on the sheet of paper and place the outside of your foot against the wall or place your foot in the shoe box with you heel wedged firmly against the back.

5. Then us your pen and ruler to draw a line just in front of your big toe. Repeat with the other foot, as right and left sizes may be different.

6. Measure the distance between the wall or the side of the shoebox and the line that you have just drawn.

7. Find this measurement in Centimeters in the size chart above.
