Rated 2 out of 5 by from These look amazing but they hurt I got these in the limited Ciele colourway because I was blown away by how cool they looked. I guess I should have taken more note of how little padding there was around the ankle area really but you just assume these things have been tested. The blisters started after the first run. One on my left little toe, the other on my navicular bone, really unusual places to get sore. While the toe stopped hurting after a while, the ankle blister comes back every time I run more than 5k. I've checked and double checked for maybe raised stitching but the upper is mainly welded and there's nothing I can see that would rub. The really annoying thing is that this is a fast pair of trainers. The plastic shim and shape of the sole really propel you forward, making you want to pick up the pace. Cushioning on the sole is a little on the hard side but I'm a forefoot runner anyway so it suits me. And I'll say it again - they look amazing. This is good because the only thing I'll be doing in these from now on is walking around town. I just can't trust them not to hurt. As a pair of running shoes these have proved to be my most costly mistake yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for my feet I love Salomon products and currently have the Pulsar, Pulsar SG, Ultra Glide x2, Sonic Balance, Sense Ride x4, XT-6 and the subject shoe, Phantasm. I give all the other shoes 5 stars. I have done multiple runs in this shoe hoping that it would finally work for me. I very much appreciate the cushion, responsiveness, weight and style. I, however, get blisters on each pinky toe whenever running over 5k at any pace. It isn't a width issue either since I fit the the Pulsar and Pulsar SG perfectly. Since it happens on both feet I assume it is simply the design that does not work for me and may not be the case for everyone else. I do not get blisters from any of the other Salomon products whatsoever, no matter the distance or pace. After my last run I have decided to retire this shoe with less than 50 miles total and have switched to the Pulsar for this type of road running. As other reviews have stated, the laces are comically long, and I would triple knot them. I definitely prefer the quicklace style. One other note, I am less enthused about the energy blade concept. It seems a bit gimmicky and believe the shoe would perform just as well without. I can't say I felt much more propulsion than when wearing the Pulsar or Ultra Glide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changer I’m a valet at the ritz Carlton Tahoe and log a lot of miles running on pavement. The heel cushion and the rocker on the shoe make running effortless. No pounding sensation in the heel and the shoe literally propels you into the next stride. Super light weight as well. 8 hours shifts of running are no problem now. I’ve gone thru a lot of Salomon shoes at this job and none compare to the phantasm!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from finally!!! a road shoe that holds my foot like an S/lab trail shoe! that detail alone is everything (for me). as a trail runner more than a road runner, road shoes have always felt very unstable and loose. this shoe actually holds my foot in place! i love it. best part, it makes me run fast. this shoes just wants to go, it doesn't care if you're trying to take it easy, it wants to go! super comfortable and light.

HOW to MEASURE

1. Place a sheet of paper on the floor and against a wall.

2. Make sure you are wearing the same socks that you would normally wear with this type of shoe.

3. Wearing these socks, stand on the sheet of paper with your foot perpendicular to the wall and your heel against the wall.

4. Then use a pen to draw a line just in front of your big toe. Repeat for both feet and take the longer distance to determine your size.

5. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew to find your size.

6. Find this measurement in Inches in the size chart above.
