The Salomon Advanced Skin 5 Set Pack is a trail running vest for keeping small essentials close. Breathable fabrics that run close against the body prevent chafing. Front chest pockets holster the 2 included soft flasks, while the back stretch mesh pocket will happily carry some energy gels. The elastic chest straps prevent unwanted movement. Utilize the internal pocket if you wish, or don't. Although not included, the pack is compatible with a 1.5L bladder if you are looking to do longer miles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by runtheiat from Very impressed So happy I purchased this! Tremendous upgrade to my trail running. Well thought out design. I've tried so many hydration options (belts and handhelds) and this is the answer. Very balanced and snug fit. No bouncing. I've not experienced an irritation yet but I've worn over a vest or light jacket each time. I was able to roll up a jacket and put in the back storage area when I got too hot. Even with two full water bottles (included), cell phone, keys and a rolled up jacket the weight was well distributed and did not bother me. The water bottles can be a little tough to get into the holder when full. When able, I put them in place empty and fill them up while in the vest. Plenty of room for fuel, cell phone, keys, cash. I have a "winter" 25K coming up in Wisconsin and this should give me the room I need for layer storage, fuel and water. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Klonkas from Great vest! Start with the size: I'm 6 foot 1 tall (185 cm) and 160 lbs (72 kg) and I bought medium size which is perfect for me. I have enough room between chest straps. It's not like s lab vest series where you have no space between front straps. I didn't have to size the vest down. Most of my clothes, including Salomon one, are in medium size. Love the accessibility of this pack! You can reach to every pocket in the vest! Even to the back one and you don't have to be super flexible to do this. As far as pockets are concerned they're super stretchy, but not too the point where your items bounce around, and well design. Like the little one where you can put your car keys or trash after nutrition. Trekking poles attachments work pretty well. No bouncing, quick and easy access to them. There's only one issue with putting softflasks into the front pockets but with some practice it's easy to me now. Like the additional insulated pocket. It's warmer during the winter time and you can easily remove during summer months. Overall best racing and long runs best on the market!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jbowles from Fits like glove I ordered per chart and have worn the Skin 5 over a moisture wicking shirt on 90 degree days and thick long sleeves on 30 degree day. Big pouch on back large enough to store shed layers. The other pouches hold gloves, head lamp, phone and nutrition. Has been used on multiple 20-25 mile runs. The soft flask stay put with the elastic band around the top, an improved from older model.

I typically use them for self supported days in the range of 50K - 80K so I have to pack a fair bit of gear and water. The new design puts more weight and gear in the front. This will take some time to get used to but it makes everything much more accessible. The fit is wonderful and the rubbing points seem to have been reduced from the previous version. I did get a bit of chafe on my pec where the water bottle bounced with the bag. The stretchy coords that run everywhere on the bag did hang out and catch things (me, bushes) infrequently.

The comfort of this pack, in comparison to other brands I have tried, is on another level. I enjoy the ability to carry Tailwind in the provided flasks for electrolyte supplementation over longer distances, and bars/Gu fit fine as well. I typically pack away my Bonatti rain gear, gloves, and a Petzl headlamp as well for those “just in case” thoughts. All this, including room for my phone, keys, wallet, etc, and this is advertised as one of the smaller packs. Fantastic quality, and it has made my running life better. I have put the pack through 180+ miles of trails and long road runs thus far. I no longer worry about the logistics/comfort of bringing what I need on a run.
