Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great puffy I really wanted this puffy for my Rainier climb after looking at other brands but I just couldn’t justify the cost. When I looked at moose jaw it was almost $100 cheaper than other websites. So glad I waited and purchased this puffy. I wore it for the last 2,000 feet of summit and it was extremely warm and wind proof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hugged from the inside out! I moved to Brooklyn from Hawaii, and needed something warm, yet stylish. Rab Men's Neutrino fit the bill entirely. Heck, I didn't even need to adjust to the radical temperature change! Perfect fit, lightweight, awesome quality, I don't even mind walking my dog Bugg at night in the coldest temperatures. How bout a pet line, huh?? :-) Love it...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking forward to using this gem Purchased for an upcoming winter ascent in the Sierra and probably for Rainier. Compared to other mountain garments I have used in the past 50 years, it appears to be impeccably constructed. I am looking forward to being toasty warm at the appropriate times without carrying excessive weight or bulk. Nuff said.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm Jacket Purchased for staying warm in the backcountry when I am not generating my own heat. It kept me warm in RMNP at over 10K feet, 30mph winds and -1 fahrenheit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My little refuge! Just took this jacket up to the mountains in Northern California where the weather was 14f (19C) with a good deal of wind. We were stationary for 3 hours, and all I had on was the jacket and a long-sleeve T. It was almost perfectly suited for those conditions and I was relatively warm even after being stationary for hours - if I had a proper base and a fleece, I'd be comfortable well below 0f. Later I took it to Vancouver, BC and tested it much warmer conditions (low 40's with rain) and never got wet - even when I allowed it to serve as my only barrier in a light rain for about 30 minutes. The jacket breathes beautifully and I never felt hot or moist, even when walking vigorously with temps in the high 40's. It compresses beautifully - small enough to smash into a backpack that was already on the verge of being full. This is the warmest jacket you will find outside of expedition-weight gear, and it packs so well that I will never hesitate to toss it into the suitcase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and lightweight Got this Rab jacket and it is amazing. So far I have worn it in 35-40 Degree ferenhit weather and only had a t shirt under it, did not feel cold at all. The best part about it is the fact that the jacket is extremely light and does repel water pretty good, not great as it is not waterproof! light rain it can handle.overall jacket is warm and very lightweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable, compressible. Amazing jacket I bought this for my travels in Alaska as I go from remote village to remote village for healthcare purposes. At times I have to stand outside in the cold for up to an hour while waiting for a propeller plane to pick me up. I'm not scaling mountains or doing any major ascents, but instead standing out in the cold for extended periods of time. I've worn this jacket in wind chills of -30F and (with the right layers underneath) was surprisingly comfortable. I can't imagine doing my job without this jacket. It is incredibly warm for its weight. The insulated hood (with wire brim) is unbelievable - something I didn't truly notice until I forgot to pack my toque and had to go without a hat for a week. It also keeps rain out pretty well. I had to walk to a clinic in the freezing rain and this held up as well as it could without a shell. I wouldn't wear it during a downpour, but it sheds light rain with no problem and didn't soak through during about 10 minutes of moderate rain. This jacket compresses down nicely into the stuff sack provided which is perfect for traveling. I commute from California to Alaska, so it's nice that I don't have to walk through LAX wearing this, or some other hulk jacket. I'm 6' 180bs and went with the medium. I initially tried the large but preferred the slightly more snug fit of the medium. I don't want any empty space between layers for cold air to get to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AMAZING RISE Out of the Package! The RAB Neutrino had solid reviews on the NET so I decided to take advantage of a Moosejaw sale and buy an XL. XL is my size in most jackets, and I have a bit of room to spare. I am 6'2 and change, 195. The Neutrino was a bit tight under the armpits. So Moosejaw replaced it with a XXL. Slightly big, but what the hey. Impressions: Opened the plastic bag...the jacket began to rise before my very eyes. Amazing! So you know the 800 down used in this jacket is first rate. The Pertex Endurance treated shell is a lightweight ripstop that allows the down to expand after being compressed. Another plus. The shell is lightweight and seems rugged enough, but the "crinkly" material won't allow you to sneak up on deer, birds, or your spouse. Trade off. So I will deduct a point. Test Day: Temps dropped into upper 20s and 30+mph wind. Put the Neutrino on over my T-Shirt and went for a walk. Amazing again. No wind penetration. Cinched up the hood and I was perfectly warm. The Skinny: If you are looking for a lightweight down jacket that is a fashion statement, you might consider a brand like Montane...which is even cut smaller than the RAB. If you war looking for a lightweight jacket that will keep you warm outdoors, in cold and windy conditions...the RAB Neutrino is the ticket. It is water repellent (vs. waterproof), has two nice outer pockets and one inside "pledge of allegiance" pocket, adjustable cuffs, drawcords to adjust the hood, and waits. A waterproof zipper and baffle. Sweet. Mine is a keeper...and maybe a "5".
