The Petzl Tikka Headlamp is hands free lighting for hiking, camping, and work around the house. The soft band is adjustable for multiple sized heads, all you have to do is put it on and hit the power button to see in the dark. There are 3 lighting modes, plus red lighting for night vision. Don't feel like replacing the three AAA batteries all the time? No problem, it's a HYBRID, which allows it to be compatible with the CORE rechargeable battery (sold separately).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from everything I need in a headlamp The Petzl Tikka Headlamp is easy to operate and has three settings including red light. The low setting is great for most tasks. I've never needed the high setting, it's really bright! I haven't banged it around too much but it seems durable. It came with three AAA batteries so I could use it right out of the package. What more could you ask for in a headlamp?

Aside from camping, hiking, and backpacking, I also work nights at a Wilderness Adventure camp, so a good headlamp that I can depend on is 100% necessary! My old one quit on me in the middle of the night at work, so I decided to give Petzl a try. This lamp is great! I can use the dim setting to read, or light up the entire forest with the 200 Lumen setting if needed. I haven't needed to use the red light yet, but it works well also. All around I'd give this headlamp 5 stars! And of course Moosejaw is always my first recommendation to anyone needed new gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Red light feature is perfect for sea turtle work! Bought one of these about 6 months ago for the red light to use for overnight sea turtle work. The light was fantastic, and the 3 white light settings are perfect for camping and super bright! My boyfriend saw mine and loved it so bought one for him too!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can finally see when I run in the dark! I was looking for a lightweight headlamp with enough lumens to keep me from running into a tree during my pre-dawn jogs. I finally found the perfect headlamp! It has 3 light settings, plus the lamp is adjustable (up and down) which is a great feature to for street and trail running. I haven't tried it for night time hiking, but I'm guessing it would work very well.

It was PERFECT since we left and returned camp when it was dark out. The multiple light settings are great, and the red light is just what you need once your eyes have adjusted. The florecent ring around the light also makes the lamp easy to find!!

Is there locking feature?

Great question! Unfortunately, the basic Tikka Headlamp does not have a locking feature. The only two models in the Tikka series that does have the lock option is the Tikka RXP and the Tikka R+. Sadly, we do not currently have those options in stock. If you do purchase the basic style, Petzl recommends removing the battering during transport & storage. I hope this info helps a little!
