The inner jacket is 600 fill power duck down insulated, ready to trap warm air next to your body. Wear it alone on cold, dry days. The outer jacket is an H2No® Performance Standard, waterproof and windproof 2L shell. DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jacket Berlin (Germany) winters are notoriously wet, windy and very cold with little snow. I needed a waterproof coat with down insulation; the down lining can be zipped out which makes this coat versatile for those wet and windy weeks around the near freezing temps of winter. I will echo the problem I have read from others that the zipper is unreliable - it sticks, it feels faulty and I'm afraid it will break soon (i've used this jacket for two winters now) and, indeed, the outer pockets are not warm. But as I was packing it away this spring I realized I haven't yet tried tucking the rain jacket pockets into the down liner pockets. maybe that will do the trick?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Kind of heavy and not super warm I bought this jacket to contend with the Pittsburgh winters and it's kind of a jack of all trade, master of none. It's not especially warm and it's pretty heavy. The down layer doesn't have a hood, so when you wear it by itself it feels pretty flimsy. The rain layer is heavy and feels like overkill for just rain (ie it's too hot). Overall, I don't think I'd recommend this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, dry and stylish for London & Paris Purchased this parka for my daughter's 18th birthday. She needed a good raincoat for our spring break trip to London and Paris. I thought the outer layer would be perfect for our trip and down-liner would work for when she goes to college in the fall. The parka was stylish enough to wear in London and Paris for sightseeing, tea and theater but functional to we worn in the English countryside. She stayed dry and warm even in down pouring rain. I purchased the medium and it fit my daughter perfectly which is a physically fit 5'7", 140 lbs, with broad shoulders and hips with a narrow torso. It also fit me very well, however, a little long in sleeves but I am 5'4" and I am a little larger through the chest area but same build as my daughter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket This is a great all purpose jacket. The outer and inner shell combined make for an amazingly warm jacket to survive in snowy upstate NY. The outer on its own is a great light raincoat and the inner down is plenty warm on its own. The fit is flattering and I love that I can wear this for both a business casual environment and for outdoor activities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous!! I was researching the best options for my friend who needed the warmth of a stylish down parka and a raincoat for her winter trip to Portugal where weather was rainy and cold. I was so impressed this parka combines both that I couldn’t resist buying one for myself! I absolutely love everything about it. Beautiful quality Patagonia construction. I’m 5’7”, 135 and bought a medium in the green. Love the color. Styling is fitted but doesn’t feel confining. Found a great sale price on Moosejaw. Shipping was free and fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat! I bought this coat recently thinking I would have to wait until next winter. But it's been a winter of late snowstorms. Luckily I have this warm as heck coat to keep me from freezing! Great for cooler weather also, just use the down layer by itself. Patagonia makes great quality products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lives Up to Its Name Chose to take the Tres to Iceland in March rather than the Downtown Parka (I own both), and glad I did. Encountered blizzard conditions (airport closed) and sunny, warm days (40 F); hiked the glacier, explored an ice cave, and toured Reykjavik; in each condition, the Tres kept me warm and protected. An added bonus: I looked stylish in all my photos!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat! The coat is warm enough for MI winters, and a good length. Haven’t tried the pieces separately yet, but definitely seems like a great feature. Worth it!

Hiay Beezer, thanks for your question! The center back length of the shell from neck seam to hem measures 34.25 inches and the liner measures 32.5 inched (size medium). Hope this helps!

What is the down coat color for the forge grey?

Asked by: mnich513
Thanks for the question! The inner down liner is Maroon-ish/ Copper on the outside and Grey on the inside. I hope this isn't confusing!

Could I please have the chest measurement laying flat? Thanks!

Asked by: Chrissie707
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! I pulled this bad boy up from our warehouse, and got all the measurements myself. For the chest, that will be 20". For a comparison, I also did the waist (about the middle of the pockets, to give you a reference) and that was 18". Hope this helped you out.

I would like to know if the collar can lay flat if I don't want it to stand up, either with or without the liner?

Asked by: Musicmommy23
Hiya Musicmommy23, thanks for your question! The material and design will not allow the collar to lay flat on the liner or the shell. Sorry about that!

Hi there! I am curious if you can tell me whether the zip-out down parka portion of the coat has a self-stowing pocket (that acts as a stuff sack). Thank you for your time, patience, and effort.

Asked by: Picasso4269
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! First off, let me thank YOU for thanking me. I'm the unsung hero of Moosejaw. So, thank you. You're considerate, warm-hearted and generous. May you live to be a thousand. So, for the parka, I double checked this, and there is no self stowing pocket in either portion of the coat. Hope this helps you out! Hugsies.

Hi there! Looking to know if the gray 3-1 (down) tends towards a lighter or darker shade? And are the colors in the men’s version identical to the women’s (assuming so)? Thanks!

Asked by: Hberg
Thanks for the question! The color Forge Grey in this Women's Parka is a lighter shade of grey than the typical Forge Grey items. Weirdly, the colors are not the same for men's and women's. Hope this helps!

Does the inner down jacket zip into the outer shell?  So that it essentially acts as 1 piece?

Asked by: Nikki
HIya Nikki, thanks for your question! It absolutely zips together! So you can wear it with just the shell, just the inner jacket, or both together... 3-in-1! Hope this helps!
