DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great find and great buy! I wanted to wait until end of the season to buy a new winter coat. SO happy that my friend referred me to Moosejaw! It was a much better deal than grabbing it off the the Patagonia site, the site itself was super easy to maneuver, and it showed up WAY sooner than I could have imagined. Very happy with my purchase and definitely going to be a Moosejaw lifer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't go wrong with these coats This is my second Patagonia coat in the past couple of years and I refuse to buy any other brand. It is lightweight and warm. I will mention that with this particular 3/4 length coat, the zipper tends to get caught in the material when zipping it up sometimes and I didn't have this issue last time. This coat fits a little bit more snug than my last one but I'm not sure if they were exactly the same fit. Glad I kept it at the same size and didn't go down a size so that I could still comfortably wear it with my winter attire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Parka! I bought this for a last minute trip to London. Heard it was snowing and very cold. I needed a parka that was both light and warm. This was the perfect parka! I encountered some heavy winds and snow and I never felt cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat!!! I bought this to replace a good coat thinking it must be pretty good if it’s Patagonia. Ok, not only does it look great but quality wise it’s perfect. Buy this brand!!!! Seriously you get it all for your money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable coat Very warm and fits very well. I am about 5’7 and a medium fit perfectly with room for a sweater or sweatshirt underneath as well.
Date published: 2018-03-23
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slim fit- smaller than expected It’s an extremely warm coat and very good quality. However, the sleeves are way puffier than most winter coats (giving you that larger armed look) while the torso is much tighter than most coats usually are. I have a hard time wearing sweatshirts or thick sweaters underneath. I didn’t realize it until after I bought it that it’s technically “slim fit”- I didn’t see that anywhere on the Moosejaw description. Overall good coat, but keep in mind the fit.

Can this jacket keep out cold wind ?

Asked by: Rolio
Hiya Rolio, thanks for your question! Yes, this parka is windproof and super duper warm. (Keep in mind that it is not waterproof, just water resistant.) Hope this helps!

I am 5’5 and want something that’s to my ankles (or at least 47+ in. From top of back to bottom), does this coat fit the bill? If not, do you know of a down jacket this long?

Asked by: AlwaysCold
Hiya AlwaysCold, thanks for your question! I am 5'6" and this parka is just long enough to hit the top of my knees, so I don't think this is the right one for you. There are a couple parkas that hit the mid calf, like the Canada Goose Women's Mystique Parka and The North Face Women's Triple C II Parka. Check them out here: Canada Goose Women's Mystique Parka https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Canada-Goose-Women-s-Mystique-Parka_10167497_10208_10000001_-1_ The North Face Women's Triple C II Parka https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_The-North-Face-Women-s-Triple-C-II-Parka_10317144_10208_10000001_-1_ I hope either one of these work for you.

I am 5’1”. Want a long parka with hood for cold Chicago weather.  Would this parka be too long for my height?

Asked by: Marilyn
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! You bring up an interesting point. But, y'know, who's to say what's too long? Remember in 'The Matrix' when Neo had that coat that went down to his dang ankles?!? That was SWEET!!! AND, did you know that 'neo' is an anagram for 'one' ?!?!?!? BEST MOVIE EVER!!! But....the coat. Yeah. I guess. So, I talked to my main man Alex at Patagonia, and he gave me ALL the delicious deets! For Small, the length is going to be 33.375" down the Front and 36" Down the Back. Medium is 34.375" down the Front, 37" Down the Back. Measured from the Neck Seam. Hope this helps you out! Hugsies.

I live in SoCal and wondered if this jacket is to warm from my area?

Asked by: SweetCandi
Hiya SweetCandi, thanks for your question! This is a difficult question to answer because warmth is subjective. What is warm to you may not be warm to me. Plus, your location can affect how warmth is perceived. For example, it is unusually warm here for a November day in Michigan (60 degrees) and people are walking around in shorts. The Downtown Parka would be way too warm for me today, but great for much colder temperatures. I would definitely consider it too warm for your area. A better choice for you might be the Patagonia Women's Radalie Parka. https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Patagonia-Women-s-Radalie-Parka_10312879_10208_10000001_-1_ The Radalie Parka is long and still provides protection from wind and rain.... but not as puffy. If you decide to purchase it, make sure you write a review and let me know how it worked for you! ;)

Does it have a hoodie?

Asked by: Miriana
