The Patagonia Vest Front Sling is a sling pack for bringing along all your gear on the river. The sling pack is a combination vest and backpack, with a low profile that won’t get in the way of casting. The front strap acts like a fishing vest would, with multiple pockets for your fly box, zingers, and more. When lunch time rolls around, swing the pack around without having to remove it and access your lunch in the pack portion. Organization pockets on the inside secure your keys and wallet. A handy water bottle pocket features a cinch cord so it won’t fall into the river.

FEATURES of the Patagonia Vest Front Sling

  • Vertical pocket vest front with sling back combines the best of both worlds
  • Rear pod can swing around to front without removing garment for easy gear access
  • Nylon utility keeper provides secure point to attach zinger, nippers etc.
  • Internal quick-access pockets for tippet spools; organizing pockets with hook-and-loop closures; internal 100% waterproof welded security pouch

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many compartments! I gave this to my boyfriend for his birthday. He is an avid fisherman and just got into fly fishing. He is in love with this. It has so many compartments for everything down to a waterproof pouch for his phone and valuables. It really has it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile This has been the perfect replacement for the fishing vest, puts most weight on the back rather than the chest while keeping everything out of the way for freedom of movement for casting - great idea!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice size, perfect for a few hours on the water. Really nice sized sling for a couple of hours on the water. Easy access to front pockets for your extra fly box, tippet, etc. The back pocket is plenty large for a light jacket, a can of bug spray, a beer and a snack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Functional! I bought this as a beginner fisherman. I couldn't be happier as it has a lot of storage space to keep you organized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for. I bought this pack after researching several sling packs from other manufacturers in the fly fishing industry. I almost bought one made by a different company, but it did not have a rod tube attachment point. Sometimes I have to hike to my fishing spot through the woods, and being able to keep my fly rod safe from breakage, while freeing my hands to make a careful descent down some steep banks is ideal. This pack has two adjustable straps that secure a rod tube, or other gear to the outside. I love the exterior water bottle pouch, and the interior storage is just the right size to hold everything I need for several hours or a day on the river. Also, the pockets on the front strap portion of the pack hold most of the things I use while fishing. So even though this pack is easy to swing around to your front and access, you won't need to very often. Great pack!

Is this item truly water proof?

Asked by: Cheyennedale
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, the Vest Front Sling is not going to be waterproof. I would actually take a look at the Stormfront Sling Pack instead. That option is waterproof. I included a link below. Hope this helps a little! https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Patagonia-Stormfront-Sling-Pack_10312940_10208_10000001_-1_
