Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only cloth belt that doesn't slip I have grown intolerant of belts that give or slip. I need one and a half inches and thick leather to make my middle feel secure. Sometimes leather won't do, and in fabric this is the only belt I've found that stays where you put it, all day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and plaible I was looking for a belt that I could use in conjunction with a backpacking backpack that has a waist belt, and while this belt is comfortable, the buckle is bigger than I though it would be. For general hiking or an all around belt, this is great, but to alleviate the pressure of the hip belt clip pressing on the buckle which causes pain after several minutes, I have to slide the belt over towards my hip so that the buckle is offset to one side, and that solved the issue. All in all it's a great belt that looks like it will last forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great web belt I bought one about 8 years ago and it gets worn daily. It has seen better days, to say the least. So, I bought 3. Cornered the market on them and while I dont use MooseJaw often. They have yet to let me down, the times I have used them for a purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Update on the new model I have the same belt in red, and I wanted it in black. When I received it, the buckle was in a different orientation so I thought something was incorrect. I discovered (after a call with MJ and with Patagonia) that it was a redesign to improve the grip of the buckle. There is no slippage, and the redesign worked perfectly. Great Job Patagonia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Belt Was looking for a belt that would work OK under the hipbelt of my pack. This belt works great ! Very slim and extremely strong, could come in handy on the trail in a variety of ways. The buckle works like a pitbull, pull it snug and it LOCKS in place and won't let go til you're ready. I'll be looking at buying another one in a different color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buckle holds tight, doesn't deform I bought this, my first Patagonia belt, several months ago. I have worn it virtually everyday for 8 to 10 hours. I hike a lot and do general farm type work maintaining a large nature preserve. This belts performance has been outstanding. The 1.5" width fits my work pants perfectly and the buckle holds tight and lays flat. The thickness of the webbing makes this a very sturdy belt that hasn't deformed with heavy use like the leather belts I generally buy. Plus, it looks great when I've cleaned up after a days work - not soiled or deformed at all. Like most Patagonia gear, top rate!

Can this belt be shortened?

Asked by: YankeeBelle
Hey there! To an extent, sure. If you are good at hemming, that would be preferable. If you cut it, you stand the chance of fraying, naturally, so if you can iron a patch or secure the ends of the cut, you would extend the life!
