Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product and service It’s my first time to place an order in Moosejaw. The quality of the jacket and the delivery speed / service were all excellent, much beyond my expectation for shopping online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! The Patagonia Topley Jacket is a high quality warm jacket that fits well. It stands up well against the cold of a Minnesota winter. It has longer sleeves which keeps the cold out. I am not a fan of the double zipper, but I love the look and comfort of the Topley jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm. Super happy. I bought this jacket in order to help combat upstate NY winters and frequent work trips to Canada. I couldn't be more happy. The fit and cut is perfect and it's not terribly bulky plus the down-lined hood does wonders against arctic wind gusts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket 100% worth the money, in my opinion. I wear this just about every day, and it can even work without any thicker layers below when it's extra cold!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Jacket & Very Warm I decided to get a new winter jacket after 15 years of wearing, and being quite happy with, Columbia 3-in-1's because my 6 year old Columbia Titanium Bugaboo jacket’s waterproof lining began to flake and become porous. Doing lots of online research I found that the Patagonia Topley jacket was highly rated and I liked its classic, more simple look. I ordered it and it arrived very quickly. The XL I ordered was accurately sized and fit me how I thought it would. Compared to the 3-in-1’s that I’ve been used to I was struck by how thin this jacket was. Not that my motion was ever limited before but it was just a new sensation to have a thinner, lighter winter coat. Having now worn the jacket every day for over a month in the cold Northeastern winter I can say with certainty that it’s warmer than my previous coat. I, in fact, noticed this on my first day or two of wearing it. I had my same normal walk to the train but now instead of just sitting there for my ride into town as I’ve done hundreds of times, I had to unzip the jacket to keep from overheating. I don’t have any memory of having to have to do that before and certainly not as frequently as I’ve had to over that last month. Pros (as compared to Columbia’s 3-in1 Bugaboo): It’s thinner and lighter while also being warmer. The Columbia jacket’s exterior would attract and keep (pet) hair while the Patagonia’s has remained completely clean. The Topley’s neck rest area is padded and soft and noticeably more comfortably than my Bugaboo’s. Cons: The only real place where the Topley loses to my previous Columbia is the cuff tightening straps. This jacket only has two snaps and having the first one snapped is the same size-wise as not having anything snapped at all. There no way that, if you have thick gloves on, you would be able to work the snaps at all. Plus, with my gloves on, I can’t get the strap to even reach the second snap; there is no stretch or give to it. Columbia has them beat hands down (pun alert) with the stretchy cuffs and ample, custom fit, easy-to-use velcro. The other thing that could be a con for some is that the external and, particularly, the internal breast pockets are not large. If someone has a large phone or tablet I don’t think it would fully fit.
