The Patagonia Men's Stretch Rainshadow Jacket is a waterproof jacket for staying dry in wet conditions. The 2.5 layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabric is light and stretchy, so you can move easily whenever the weather is wet. It allows for a full range of motion, so you can continue on your hike or climb as normal. When not being worn it can be stuffed into its own chest pocket, then clipped to your pack or harness for later. Additional hand pockets carry extra items for quick access and if the rainy weather is humid, all you have to do is open the pit zips for venting. Stay dry, stay comfortable, and don't stop just because of a little rain.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stretch Comfort The Rainshadow Jacket had a great fit and flex that is ideal for people who find themselves in between sizes often, if you're like me and find that's the case I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket Patagonia jacket got me through Patagonia. Light weight, waterproof, sleeves long enough for a weirdly tall guy, hood folds up if you don’t need it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light jacket with excellent repellent ability I recommend this jacket for traveling. It's so easy to stuff away in a suitcase or daypack and forget it's even there. The only downside is the hoddie, which is WAY too big. It's almost as if it's designed to be used with a helmet underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit / Lightweight Very flexible for various weather conditions. Tested in NorCal, Oklahoma and Texas. Long enough to cover below waist. Wore it in Pouring rain hike and was dry back at camp

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORTH DAT DOUGH DOE! I've had a Torrentshell for the last 7 years, and finally replaced it with the Stretch Rainshadow. I wore it once and concluded that it is certainly worth the jump in price. The SR feels a lot like a windbreaker, with none of the typical rain-shell crunchiness. It's a beautiful and supremely comfortable jacket--I actually find myself looking forward to wearing it, as opposed to ignoring it in my closet on all but the worst rainy days. The jacket is quite minimalistic in design so as to pack down well, but this also creates a striking stylistic element that combines with the Fluid Green color to provide very high and very complimentable visibility. It's the perfect warm weather shell for commuters, dogwalkers, andor construction workers--basically anyone who likes or needs to be visible whilst outdoors! (Bonus: Fluid Green color is very, very close to a perfect match for the trim on the Anaconda color of the Atom LT Hoodie by Arc'teryx. Check out the picture!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits great! This jacket is stretchable and light. Has a great true fit. Kept me dry while traveling, Iceland, where the rain was non stop. You can fold this jacket up and stuff it inside of its own front pocket for easy carrying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warding off rain Gods Me- 5'11", 160 lb, fit. Typical Patagonia fit for me- large WAY too big, medium snugly OK. Stretch Rainshadow in medium fits me tailored well, still has room for heat layer underneath like Pata R1 or Nano-Puff. Blocks the breeze, haven't had the chance to stress water repellancy yet... Stretchiness and pockets are pluses. Hood bill could be a tad longer. Liked this better than Houdini, TNF Leonidas2, OR Helium II.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome rain jacket I bought this about a month ago, extremely lightweight and breathable. It packs super small and when out on the trails comes in super handy. I am left completely dry, whether it's a drizzle or a downpour. Would definitely recommend for easy travels

Would you go a size larger for layering.  I am about a 43 in a jacket.  Large or extra large?

Asked by: Rick
Thanks for the question! The Rainshadow has a "Regular" fit and does run a little big. Plus it is stretchy. I would stick to your normal size. If you are planning on wearing super heavy layers ALWAYS, then go up a size. Hope this helps!

Are the zippers on the black jacket black and reflective? or white-ish? Its hard to tell from the picture

Asked by: ourmaninnc
Great question! I grabbed one of the Rainshadow Jackets (in Black) from our warehouse. I would describe the zippers as a shiny Grey color. It is for sure not Black or White-ish. The online image does make it seem lighter than in person. If you zoom onto the picture it does give a more actual color. Hope this helps!

How do I roll down and stow the hood. Can you send something I can visualize?

Asked by: Rain jacket
Hey there! I will explain it and then link a YouTube video so you can visualize it. The hood itself has a draw / cinch cord to help pull the hood taut to your face to stop wind from coming in at the sides. That very same cinch cord has this hook on it. When you do not need thehood, you simply roll the hood forward (towards the inside of the coat) and bring the cinch cord hook to the little loop that sits right above the interior Patagonia label. It hooks on to that loop and locks the hood in place! Youtube video: https://bit.ly/2JeWdOX
