The Patagonia Men's Refugative Jacket is a waterproof shell jacket for climbing and skiing the high mountains. The 3-layer GORE-TEX® fabric combined with Gore® C-Knit™ backer gives you a water and windproof jacket that is not only lightweight, but stretchy. Movement is important when you're moving hard and fast up or down the mountain, and the fabric used at the upper back, shoulders, and backs of the arms helps facilitate this. Get your blood pumping and as your heat increases, open the pit-zips to release the excess. Pockets are littered inside and out, most feature a zipper for security while the interior mesh is wide open for quickly stashing goggles, skins, even a hat! Attach the jacket directly to your Patagonia snow pants (or some alpine pants) to prevent snow up the back, then pull up the hood to deter the oncoming flakes of snow.

FEATURES of the Patagonia Men's Refugative Jacket

  • A hybrid design for the optimal balance of stretch and lightweight; durably waterproof and windproof 3-layer Gore-Tex fabrics with Gore C-Knit backer technology are softer, lighter and more breathable than regular 3-layer Gore-Tex fabrics
  • Specially engineered Optimal Visibility Hood adjusts with single-pull Cohaesive embedded cordlock system to fit equally well over all helmet types or a bare head
  • Two high handwarmer pockets with watertight zippers stay clear of a harness or pack waistbelt; welted exterior left chest pocket, interior left chest pocket and interior stretch catch-all pocket
  • Watertight 2-way pit zips for venting
  • Elasticized strap at low back connects to any Patagonia Snow pants and select Alpine pants to prevent jacket from riding up
  • Cohaesive embedded cordlock system has two contact points at hem for intuitive one-handed operation either inside pocket or at hem
  • Concealed RECCO reflector

GORE-TEX C-KNIT

GORE-TEX C-KNIT
C-KNIT is a backer technology that is utilized as the innermost layer of GORE-TEX fabrics. It is soft to the touch and adds serious comfort to hard shells. Its incredible breathability will minimize moisture build-up so you won't get that clammy next-to-skin feeling.

GORE-TEX fabric technology

GORE-TEX®
Garments made with GORE-TEX® fabric are durably waterproof, windproof and highly breathable, providing reliable weather protection and maximum comfort for a wide range of activities. These garments keep your body dry by allowing perspiration vapor to escape so you remain cool during activity and warm during cool-down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shell I bought this shell for skiing and I love it. The material is surprisingly supple for a 3 layer gore tex jacket. It is light, packable, water proof and breathable. I was stoked with how well this jacket breathed and kept me dry all at the same time. I am 176cm, 68kg, and got small, it fit well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, still warm Great jacket. Bought it to replace my current Marmot Spire snowboarding jacket and overall I prefer the Refugitive. It’s a lot lighter but just as warm. Cord adjustment is easy, even with gloves on. The only downsides are the extremely small inner left chest pocket (it can pretty much only hold a ski pass) and the single cord adjustment on the hood (the Marmot Spire has three. A near perfect hard shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shell I bought this shell for splitboarding and I love it. Super light, packable, water proof and breathable. What more could you need. I'd agree that is runs a bit big but wouldn't necessarily size down. I tried a small but that was too tight. Medium is perfect for me. 5'11, 155. Also, love that Patagonia is about as environmentally responsible as you can be for mass producing outerwear.
