The Patagonia Men's Houdini Jacket is an ultralight jacket for weather resistance when moving fast. Running through the mountains, climbing up rock walls, trips where weight matters. The 100% nylon ripstop fabric has been finished with a durable water repellent coating, blocking wind and resisting moisture so you can concentrate on the adventure and not the gray clouds in the sky. The slim fit features a hip length with a full length zipper that regulates temperature when necessary. A single chest pocket allows the waist to be completely clear for your harness or hipbelt while still holding onto a small item, such as a granola bar or headlamp. Not only that, the whole jacket stuffs into the chest pocket when you're not wearing it, saving space in your pack, or just clip it to your harness. Elastic at the cuffs prevent drafts and a single adjustment at the back of the hood keeps the hood from flying off in the wind and clearing peripheral vision.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelllent reserve jacket I bought this to replace one I absentmindedly left in a hotel room while traveling overseas. This is my go-to-jacket for those out of routine needs while traveling-- such as, on an unexpected chilly flight, a drizzling day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patagonia and Moosejaw... BOOM! The Houdini is an amazing jacket from Patagonia. At just a few grams, it’s is a stunning technical piece. Wind proof and treated with DWR, it’s a great packable jacket for runners, hikers, or soccer dads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lightweight Jacket I like the fit of the Houdini jacket and the lightweight for running. I have purchased seven different colors and my wife likes to wear them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't leave home without it! As a long distance runner, this little guy comes with me anytime from late Winter to late Fall. It's slim fit, not too loose or tight. 180lbs 5'9" got the L & fit Perfect! I can wear my Patagonia 10L tech pack under it with out any restrictions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Jacket Very light weight and packable. XL jacket purchased seems a bit tight in the chest (Not much room to layer underneath). Looking forward to testing it more often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super lightweight and must have piece of gear Amazing jacket. When I received it I thought there is no way this thing is going to be worth anything. Boy, was I wrong. This has turned out to be my most valuable piece of gear (just ahead of my buff) that is always in my pack. It somehow blocks the wind amazingly well and does a decent enough job on the rain. The point is, it is so light that it is no big deal just to throw in the pack so you are always ready for any change in the weather. I wore this just over my first layer on most days when doing Aconcagua and would just throw a puffy jacket over top as temps and body temp dictated. Highly recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sent it back I love the weight, but this jacket didn’t work for me. First, despite using Patagonia’s own sizing guide, the jacket was too small. Order big. More importantly, I don’t think the design is sufficiently breathable. Elastic cuffs are a bad idea in a jacket meant to be worn under active conditions. It might add an ounce or two to use Velcro closures instead, but that would increase breathability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sooo lightweight This jacket is perfect for rainy/snowy runs. It keeps moisture out and provides a great barrier to the elements. The reason it gets knocked down a star is that while it keeps the moisture out, it also keeps it in. On one of my runs it was raining the first half and wasn't the second. the second half of the run was cool but humid and the sweat was almost pooling in the sleeves and draining out the openings. Some ventilation around the elbow and back would have been wonderful.
