DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product I bought this bag several weeks ago for splitboarding. Works great although would have liked a built in insulated hydration shelve - but surely not a deal killer for such a high quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best All Around Pack This is the greatest all-around backpack I have ever owned. I used it to hike to the top of Mount Whitney in the winter and it held up great. I also use it everyday to carry my laptop and gym gear to and from work. It works well as a rock climbing pack too. Not too many pockets, but just enough to store big items, medium items, and then a small pocket for more valuable things like sunglasses or snow goggles.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid pack, but lacking a few basic features I have now had the opportunity to get this pack out on a few day tours and chair accessed backcountry laps. The size, fit, color, durability, and ease of use are all outstanding. It provides enough room for all that you need on a Spring tour, which I believe can be the hardest to pack for as you often need all of your winter layers at dawn when the skin starts and room to store them as the temperatures rise throughout the day. I like have multiple access points to the main compartment, the dedicated google pocket and of course the dedicated avy equipment pocket. Other reviews have mentioned that the act pocket isn't big enough, but I have had no issues fitting my Black Diamond Super Tour 265 quick draw probe, or Deploy shovel into the pockets. The ski carry options are easy to use, the straps tuck away when not in use, and handle equally well a pair of Volkl Kuro and DPS Wailers in either A-Frame or diagonal carry. So what are my gripes? The straps could be reinforced to prevent unnecessary wear and tear, the hip straps could have small gear pockets for things like sunscreen and snacks, and it really would bene fit from a sleeve in a strap for a water bladder hose. I go back and forth as to whether or not it needs a helmet pocket. On the days I don't need or want a helmet on my head as we climb, I don't really notice my helmet swinging around, as it hangs off the pack. Overall a solid pack, but there are some tweaks that would make it brilliant.
